Or about the Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7.

the Q5 is based on the A4/A5 platform and is hence an Audi only platform. get your facts right before you bash a car company for platform sharing when it only does so for two of its models (A3/TT).

First of all I was not bashing Audi. I have said numerous times on this site that Audi is generally my favorite of the three. You clearly did not understand my point, which was that many car makers build higher end cars based on lower end models, which is a good thing because it keeps the prices down. And if you want to go on about fact checking, you clearly know nothing because if you look at the platforms that are used by Audi models you will see that the vast majority of them, both past and present, are very much intertwined with the rest of the makes under VW. The current A4 shares the platform with the Seat Exeo, the Q7 was built on a slightly modified Touareg, along with many others. You should check your facts before posting something that is incorrect, especially if you're going to be so agressive about it.

I agree 100%. They ruined what was a beautiful car.
