Ho-Pin Tung insists he is still in the running to secure the vacant race seat at Renault in 2010.

It was reported earlier this week that the newly Genii Capital-controlled team has signed the Gravity Sport managed Jerome d'Ambrosio as well as Tung to be joint reserve drivers.

But while the Russian GP2 driver Vitaly Petrov is believed favourite to be Robert Kubica's race teammate, the 27-year-old Dutch born Chinese Tung insists he is also still in the running.

"Test driver would be nice, of course, but being one of the team's race drivers is obviously better," Tung told the Dutch website gpupdate.net.

"We must wait -- hopefully we'll be able to announce something soon," he added.

i wonder what flag he would race under, dutch or Chinese. Either way i think i would prefer Petrov to race in F1, i think he would make a better team mate for Kubica

Well he races under a chinese license presently and it would be silly of him to forgo the sponsorship opportunities that racing under the 5 stars would offer.
