wow... LED rear lamps! Seems to be a big thing amongst the VW-Porsche group. First the Golf, now the 911. I've had LED rear lamps on my bicycles for quite a few years now! So much for Vorsprung durch whatever...! :)

"why would they want to do that ?" This is a pretty typical line from every porSHE-grandpapas.

the people who actually buy the 911 do it because they love its shape and its personality. the ones who whine about its design are not Porsche's target customers so their opinion is irrelevant.

Well, that's the biggest difference out of the way, other than that spoiler, a few numbers, and how on Earth the painters plan on topping Nordic Gold. Porsche design is form with function, evolution over revolution. Hell, the 911 has been the sports car benchmark for decades. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Speaking of form and function, the shape - defined by it's defining characteristic, the engine position (which gives huge traction off the line) - is very aerodynamic. They've got the weight balance issue well sorted by now. Over 46 years, they have simply been improving a flawed design until it became nigh-on perfect. Just keepin' it modern. And on top. Maybe 10 or 20 years down the timeline, they could've reinvented it. But now, if they were to completely redo the 911, it just wouldn't be a 911. It is unique.

Hell yes! Porsche 911 the perfect sports car engineered by the greatest engineering family of all time. A flawless design needs no changes over time. Just as the perfect economy car (AKA VW Beetle) needed no changes over a life time of 15 million examples! Oh interesting also a product of the same family not a coincidence. After 15 million 911 are built maybe it can be retired.

I like fat tyres since they look good & this new low, wider porsche 911 looks nice, let's hope so.

I would expect this model to have a longer wheel base while being wider as well. Should be a good thing. I don't mind how differently or similarly it'll look with all of their previous models. As long as it drives like the hottest thing on the road =)

Porsche, please do not put the Panamera headlights on this car... Keep the ovals. It reminds me of the 997 - most beautiful Porsche ever - timeless.

It does look lower, more svelte. Reminds me in a way of the new Ruf CTR 3 or some recent 9ff designs. As always, Porsche will deliver a benchmark product.
