A 1:43 scale model Renault Twingo CC has appeared. The little car, dubbed the Wind, is certain to be the long-awaited topless Twingo. Last time with saw the hairdresser's runabout was back in March 2009 during a spy operation. It was meant to appear at last year's Geneva Motor Show but now it looks like it may very well make this year's event.

Wind is probably not its final name; that should be released along with official details in Geneva. What we do know is that it is a two-seat roadster with a metal roof. It will be powered by a range of engines including the 74kW (100hp) 1.2 TCE and a 98kW (133hp) 1.6 motor. Turbo diesel engines could also be on the cards, but this is still uncertain.

Do we really need convertibles that small? It's not exactly a dream car is it? Unless you've always wanted an impractical version of an FF city car that puts the wind in your hair. They're like small dogs: if a man gets one, everyone will think he's gay.

I?m all for having ?cheap? roadsters available on the market. Gives the consumer more choice. Back in the 60?s roadsters were slow and cheap like the Triumph Spitfire, MG Midget?

Looks good. Since the Tigra is pretty much dead now, it will be a rival to the CR-Z. Well maybe they have a few differences, but they still look similar.
