Let's hope they can keep it alive and well until some large manufacturer can take it over and turn it to great successful brand once again.

If true, this is really good news. The battle may still be uphill, but any preservation of choice in this homogenized market is positive. The new 9-5 is one of the few unique choices, sort of. It still has an insipid platform/power-train but it's styling has originality. Given some time away from GM maybe something really cool and different, like a V4, could appear.
