Audi R8 V10 Spyder Promo Video

Audi has released a new video similar to the first promo of the R8 variant intended to build anticipation for UK and German deliveries beginning in just a few weeks.  The 1min 23sec promo shows the drop top ready to unleash its furious power, only to be stifled by the frustrations of the urban jungle.  However, once beyond the city limits, the R8 V10 Spyder can finally stretch its legs.

First unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt International Motor Show last month, The Spyder runs the same 5.2-litre V10 engine found in the coupe. Maximum power is 386kW (518 PS) and peak torque is 530Nm (391 lb-ft). The 0 - 62mph sprint time is 4.1 seconds while the manual can deliver a top speed of 194mph.

The Spyder is equipped with a soft-top which uses electrohydraulics to open its canvass in 19 seconds and store it inside a compartment above the engine. It can also be activated at speeds of up to 31mph.
