Roush Announces 2011 Mustang Lineup
Roush has released full details on their packages for the 2011 Mustang. The American tuning firm will begin production on two different versions of the Roush Mustang as soon as Ford's own production commences.
The company's engineers have not yet completed work on performance enhancements for the vehicle. These modifications will include re-tuning the 5.0-liter V8 engine that already produces 412 horsepower and up to 390 ft-lb of torque. The company also plans to make their custom supercharger available. It is unclear if any changes will be made to the six-speed manual transmission.
Unfortunately, the performance upgrades will not be available before the summer. "We have a history of increasing the horsepower on each model year 427R Mustang, and that should continue with the 2011 as well," said company chief Jack Roush in a press release.
"However, exactly what the horsepower and torque numbers will be is too early to tell at this point as the engineering teams are still working through a myriad of details on the new five-liter engine."
What will be available are the "Roush Stage 1" and the "Roush Stage 2" packages. The first kit includes a set of body upgrades, likely including a new front fascia with splitter, side sills, and rear wing. The rear fascia will likely be touched up as well. New wheels should also be available, including 18- or 20-inch varieties.
Stepping up to the Stage 2 adds both suspension and handling modifications, along with the body changes from Stage 1.
Pricing for the 2011 Roush Mustang kits has not yet been announced.

TIMELINE UNVEILED FOR ROUSH 2011 MUSTANG LINEUP
LIVONIA, Mich. (January 18, 2010) - ROUSH® Performance, the leader in specialty Mustang builds with more than 16,000 vehicles on the road, unveiled the timeline for producing their highly-anticipated 2011 Ford Mustang conversions.
In April, shortly after Ford's Job 1 begins on the 2011 model year Mustang, ROUSH will offer their Stage 1TM and Stage 2TM versions. Using the new Ford 5.0-Liter, V-8 engine, both of these cars will have 412 horsepower and 390 ft.-lb. or torque, all while reaching an estimated 25 highway miles per gallon of fuel economy. Also new for the 2011 model year is the standard six-speed transmission, something that Mustang fans have clamored for over the past several years.
The ROUSH Stage 1 package consists primarily of aesthetic changes such as the addition of the OEM-quality ROUSH body kit. The ROUSH Stage 2 adds a suspension and handling package in addition to the appearance upgrades.
"The 2011 ROUSH Stage 1 and Stage 2 Mustangs will represent an incredible value by blending appearance and handling with an amazing base Ford engine package," said Jack Roush. "I expect that the 2011 Stage 1 and Stage 2 ROUSH Mustangs could come close to matching the performance of some ROUSHchargedTM Mustangs we have offered in prior model years which will make them extremely exciting to drive and at a reasonable starting price point."
For powertrain models, such as the ROUSH 427R®, the engineering team is already hard at work developing the 2011 model year ROUSHcharger® and determining what modifications can be done to the 5.0-Liter engine. ROUSH 2011 model year powertrain vehicles, however, are not likely to be available until late summertime.
"We have a history of increasing the horsepower on each model year 427R Mustang, and that should continue with the 2011 as well. However, exactly what the horsepower and torque numbers will be is too early to tell at this point as the engineering teams are still working through a myriad of details on the new five-liter engine," explained Jack Roush.
