?2000 for electric seats? I'd rather not even if I could afford a car like that. The two main rivals are expected to be priced at ?150,000, so that extra ?20k may sway people into a McLaren MP4-12C or AMG SLS Gullwing if badge value doesn't mean anything, which if you're a car fan, it shouldn't. Although I don't know how good each car is. Just that the 458 is mind-adjustingly fast and that the SLS is a brilliant schizophrenic. I haven't read and reviews for the Brit yet.

The SLS Gullwing is not a competitor to this. The Gullwing is a front-engined Grand Tourer, to compete directly with the likes of the California. You're spot-on with the McClaren though, and truthfully the 458 is up against the next-generation Gallardo as its arch-nemesis.

@Dbeh.. I think if anything, the SLS is more of a competitor for the likes of the DBS/DB9. I don't think MB cared much about the California, nor did many.

A GT has seats in the back by definition i think. The SLS is not the same category as this car, The only competition ferrari has is from lamborghini. No other brands are really in the same category. I don't think anyone considering a 458 would consider an SLS or Continental GT, maybe their dad would. But this car i don't know yet, it looks weird in photos. Photo wise the current F430 looks better. It's too rounded just like the panamera, hard to get a grasp on it's dimensions and spatially picture it. As stated below by HommeStar, the Pamanera is an EPIC car in person, the definition of smooth. They should make suppositories in the shape of a panamera, that's how smooth it is.

Actually, the reason I'm being bitchy is because it IS for a guy like me, what you don't realize is that not all Ferrari owners are billionaires. I would love to have this option on my 458 Italia if I get one but $4K is a bit ridiculous. Believe me, I have alot of friends who own exotics and dealing with overpriced optional extras is really frustrating, even regular car makers are doing this now. Even though you might think that when spending that kind of money on a car the extras don't really make differnce, they actually really do.

u got that right completely... i know people with just US1million net worth driving 430 as well... for these people, options prices can make all the differences. driving ferrari can't really reflect one's wealth as it's a type of car that will attract all those not so wealthy people to save up for one, unlike other exotics such as SL65BS, SLR, AM DBS, bentley CGT etc..

Why is everyone complaining about the pricing of the options. Am I the only one that thinks this car is a bargain? After the British price inflation factor is taken out, this will probably retail in the states for about 220g, just like the last one. Only this car has the potential to be among the best mid-engined supercars in history, up there and perhaps even higher than the likes of Enzo (I'm predicting it will shatter the Enzo Nordschleiffe lap time, perhaps even come under the 7:20 mark). All this potential and you're all whining about electric seats. Give me a break.

I think this car looks better then McLaren MP4 and the SLS. Price wise I bet you are getting a pretty good deal with the Ferrari and McLaren considering their performance. I would never choose the SLS over those 2 because it will not be able to keep up.

shame that the GTR can't beat the 911 Turbo around Nurburgring, but this probably can.

As it's been said many times before. This is definitely a departure of the Ferrari of yore. Initially, I found this car incredibly repulsive but it has grown on me a bit. So I'll wait until I see it in person. May just like it. I had my ass handed to me just yesterday..How you ask?! Well, while on my usual 5th Avenue (Manhattan) cruise, yesterday, I saw a freakin' Panamera in the color Yachting Blue. Have any of you yet to see the Panamera Turbo on the road?? I hated it as much as all here..but all that I can say now is that(never saw this coming!) the Panamera is GORGEOUS......absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! my jaw was and still is on the pavement. Wait until ya get a load of this one!

+1. totally agree. the panamera is amazing in the metal. so much better than it looks in pics. i'm not too sure about the 458 but will reserve judgement til i see it in person. i do think the spokes of the wheels are too thin though. and ferrari usually get their wheels spot on.

Probably the stock wheels, they will have many optional wheels available, of course at a nice price tag. My favorite wheels are still the ones from the 360 Scuderia.

Hmm half the price of a LF-A...Easy choice i think.
