Nissan North America has confirmed its participation at the 2010 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) and plans to reveal the latest 2011 Infiniti QX56 SUV at the event. Several spy photos of the luxury off-roader have already come to light. The company takes New York as one of its most important market areas and says most other automakers take it just as seriously.

"Infiniti will unveil the all-new QX56 full-size luxury SUV at the New York International Auto Show this spring," said Nissan North America product public relations director, Scott Vazin. "The show perfectly suits our needs in terms of launch timing, media attendance and, most importantly, our customer base."

The show's executives also recognise its importance and are quite happy to host Nissan and others who have been confirmed as exhibitors.

Nissan and Infiniti Confirm Participation at 2010 New York International Auto Show

NEW YORK, Jan. 12 -- Despite a recent report to the contrary, Nissan North America confirmed its full participation at the 2010 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) today ending any speculation that the Japanese automaker was pulling out of the Show.

Over the years, the company has chosen New York for many of its most important new vehicle launches including the all-new seventh generation Maxima and the volume-leading Altima.

"Infiniti will unveil the all-new QX56 full-size luxury SUV at the New York International Auto Show this spring," said Nissan North America product public relations director, Scott Vazin. "The show perfectly suits our needs in terms of launch timing, media attendance and, most importantly, our customer base."

In fact, New York represents the nation's largest DMA (designated market area) for most automobile manufacturers, including Nissan and 22 of the 35 major automobile brands. New York is the second largest DMA for eleven of the 12 other brands.

Every major automaker that sells cars in the U.S. is exhibiting at the 2010 New York International Auto Show.

"Auto shows continue to be one of the best marketing tools for selling cars and trucks," said show director Candida Romanelli. "In fact, a recent survey conducted at last year's event concluded that auto shows are the number one most reliable source of information for consumers in the new vehicle market and that attending the show significantly increases their purchase consideration. In this economy, we understand the importance of every marketing dollar spent, and we are pleased that Nissan and others consider New York a sound investment," concluded Romanelli.

What are you talking about, look at Patrol, it's awful. I thought it will be rough, real off road car like the present model. Very sad :-( Infinity QX56 was brutal looking car and this one is much brutal. I like it

The QX56 front looks like a bulldog! It can't compete with the LX570, and the patrol looks like the pathfinder, Actually some salesmen told us the patrol will reach the show rooms next March and the reservation is open for the car but how can poeple reserve a car they never seen it! Even RR, Bentley, Merc, BMW release the official photos year before releasing the car! I don't know what's the secret about this car.

For those of you who need to check your eyes again, this is a significant improvement over the last Infiniti QX, and the interior is even more refined than the current Patrol. When you get a chance to see these SUVs in person, then comment on their appearance.

i know that sometimes cars look better in the metal than they do in photographs, but this is hideous. nothing at all there to trouble the RR, GL or Q7 (and the Q7 itself is pretty ugly).

@bravado, the interior shown in the pics is for the patrol not the QX56, What ever the interior and the exterior of the QX56 is, it will not come close to it's main rival LX570
