New spy photos of the upcoming MINI Countryman, a.k.a. the MINI Crossman, show a new set of headlights previously unseen on prototypes. The outline of the camouflage around the lighting suggests a similar design to the lamps seen on the MINI Beachcomber Concept.
Previous spy pictures show the crossover with, what appeared to be, a headlight lens that bulged outward. Highbeams also looked to have been separated from normal lights several more inches, accounting for the larger lens. Now, the prototype looks to be sporting a lighting that carries a more compact, but still bulky, teardrop shape.
The latest photographs also show the radiator and air inlets covered up by a cheap black mesh that is taped in place. This leads us to wonder if engineers are finished tinkering with the vehicle's front fascia.
MINI's Beachcomber Concept debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit earlier in the week. The dedicated four-seater is almost four meters long, and rides on 17-inch wheels.
The MINI Countryman/Crossman is expected to go on sale near the fourth quarter of 2010.
