yet more brutal american styling... although this is a much better application of american brutalism!

What are you looking at ? If this is brutal then so is the new Audi A8 and BMW 7series. Full size luxury cars generally play the conservative game and this Cadillac XTS looks more conservative than the CTS. I like it and I think it will sell well. I would like it more if it followed the Cadillac 16 concept and was more dramatic. Brutal it is not.

I like it, although on photos view it feels a bit long in the middle section. Overall I like it. Am sure I'll love it in person

Yep, looks very good, and the interior has that modern Cadillac luxury style that the Escalade never had. Well I guess that Cadillac finally arrived in the 21st century and it's here to stay.

well.. if this concept remains through the production version, it will certainly be an attractive car to buy considering the ugly A8...

i like it, i love the interior apart from the lcd dials that look cheap compared to rivals (jag xj) but i love the fifties caddy grille as the air vent nostalgic without being overly so. i like it i agree, the new a8 is a real let down, they should have shown that in a different colour in detroit like a black or something dark its awful in that champagne silver they keep showing it in

Hmm looks nice, interior is very nice with some typical American design mistakes. The car looks huge from the outside, rear leg room seems no more than in a 3 series bmw. Where did the space go? Also bad place for the LCD screens, or bad design of the screen mechanism. Being LCDs viewing angle is very important, and the angle is determined by the position of the driver's/passenger's seat..The LCD should be able to tilt, common sense.

The screens are not LCD. They are OLED (as the article CLEARLY states), and as such, have no back-light. With no need to back-light, the screens can be perfectly viewed from any angle. What 3-series were you in? The Epsilon platform has a cavernous rear compartment because its a BIG seller in China where most owners will be driven around. This car is breaking new ground; a return to Cadillac vehicles being worthy of the old "standard of the world" slogan. I know you can't help it, but all that hate doesn't look good on you...

You do know this is a concept car, don't you? Obviously the interior of the production version won't have the concept's Minority Report factor.

Boring, all Cadillacs look the same, it is like all Audi's look the same. Booooooooooooooring
January 12, 2010 2:23 pm
Looks way better than the A8, the A8 looks completely boring in comparison
January 12, 2010 2:29 pm
I agree, it does look better than the A8. I really like the interior, the dashboard is from another planet, and I really like how they've camouflaged the back LCD into the front armchairs. Concerning the exterior I am not that convinced though; at first when the Cien concept was launched I was pretty delighted about the design, but now I think it's just about the same story with every new model. They really have to rethink their lines, they're kinda old story.

I must say, I love the way this car looks, though I may not be able to buy one, it would really enlighten the streets. And the interior is perfect! (I do not work for Cadillac nor am I American, not that there is anything wrong with that)

It looks wonderful from the rear view mirrors onward. Love the flow of the rear in profile. But that front is rather grotesque. Looks like it belongs on an Escalade. Perhaps it will translate to a great looking production version. The Cadillac concept interiors look fantastic as per usual. Let's see how much of this makes it to production.

Caddy could hit a home run with this one. Design looks good inside out, better than the new Audi. Caddy however always suffers in the areas of controlling weight, something our society also suffers with... And the extra weight causes handling, performance, and fuel efficiency nightmares.

Its a good successor to the STS, the only thing I don't like is the rims but other than that good job Cadillac. They may be one of the few reasons GM isn't in chapter 7 liquidation right now.
January 12, 2010 4:03 pm
I like this car but I just read an article from the North American Auto Show and this car is Front Wheel Drive. The XTS is meant to replace the STS and DTS and appease the current profile of DTS drivers. Flagship Luxury cars are not Front Wheel Drive (I know All wheel drive is optional but that is the only way I would consider buying this vehicle from a driving dynamics point of view).
January 12, 2010 4:51 pm
ow, I didn't know that.
Bad news definitely. Should definitely be RWD, AWD optional.
January 12, 2010 5:18 pm
Wait are you serious? The xts is FWD???? WTF!!! Ok does someone have the email or phone # of the GM vehicle planning department? This could have been a good 5 series fighter if not for the fwd. How stupid are the people that decided this thing's drivetrain? This thing isn't an economy car, its GM'S crown jewel it should be rwd.

What a shame! Cadillac flagship made off Buick LaCrosse/Saab 9-5 platform. This can only be Lexus ES competitor.
January 12, 2010 5:08 pm
This is a relatively nicer version compared the new Lexus LS, BMW 7, Audi A8, and about equivalent to the Jag XJ.
I would really wish that they would include a V-8 variant in the line-up though, to better compete with that the Germans are offering in their line ups.
Things are really looking up for Cadillac in all of their segments.
January 12, 2010 5:16 pm
With a little bit of work this thing could be beautiful, to me the hood is just a little bit too short, and those lights look old already... other than that I love the rear and the interior, good step for Cadillac to take.
January 12, 2010 6:11 pm
I just wish they could have given it a lower profile. It seems to be sitting very high. And yes the Sixteen styling cues would have really made this a better looking car. After a concept like the Sixteen, I was really kinda let down at this one. But I'm sure if your throw a rag on top, and white wall tires, it will be the modern day cadillac big car all hoped for.
