Ford Focus v Opel Astra v Volkswagen Golf? Hmmm.. okay this is harder than I think. Can't believe they got rid of that unique rear tail lights.

All three (Golf, Astra, Focus) have been developed in germany. No doubt that they are technically very competitive...

looks like the next generation kia ceed, exterior and interior, they should have kept the vertical lights at the rear in some form

Disappointed. I expected a return to roots of focus, dynamic, aggressive car. Fiesta is gorgeous. I hoped they will repeat it with new Focus, but sadly it looks like leftovers from fiesta design stage. It's not ugly but it just isn't it...

Indeed, something feels wrong. I hope what I'm feeling right now will change with seeing the car in the real world. Though I'm sure it will be a great car to buy.

Ooh er. They appear to have taken a Mondeo, re-sized it to 60%, then looked at their entire opposition and pinched bits off them to make the ends look different. At the front, I see Renault Megane Coupe (with those triangular shark teeth), maybe a Chevrolet Kalos, or a new Astra, and I'm sure there's a Koren car I'm missing. Something about the headlights... At the back, well, there's Citroen C3 and a dash of old-hat Renault Megane in those frankly oversized tail lights, the rest looks pretty much the same. Still with a shallow window line followed by an ugly sudden drop that makes the arse look stretched out and baggy. The 4-Door is all wrong, like a smaller Mondeo with a ruined face. And tail lights that explode after breaching the bootline. The interior, however, looks quite nice. The seats look sporty-yet-comfortable, and there are some nice details. Mind you, the vertical air vents and pushed-back Multi-media screen are a bit Infiniti-like. I think Ford have taken on board the fact that they were made to look conservative and boring by rivals such as the Citroen C4, and so have gone all out on this new-fangled one. Unfortunately, all-out has spelt too-far, and by trying to satisfy every market at once they've ended up with a very messy-looking car.

Looking at the 4dr version of this car from the rear, just screems Toyota (no pun intended), it's just the first thing that comes to mind whenever I look at it from the back. But overall it's pretty nice.

What have they done to this car?! I loved its predecessor and I still adhere to the Kinetic Design but those shapes are really, really ugly. I mean, that's just my point of view but apart from the air intakes everything on the outside seems unproportioned. Look at those bloated head- and tail-lights and what about those curvy windows? I'm seriously gonna miss the current European Focus.

The original Mk1 Focus drew a lot of negative comments when it first came out, then it grew on people, and ended up still looking fresh at the end of it's life - fresher than the Mk2 did at launch. I'd bet that this will look better in the metal than in the pictures and it will date much less quickly than the suppposedly 'better' designs such as the Golf and the Astra. The Golf Mk6 is only distinguishable from the Mk5 by the wider grille. Call that design? I don't

just looked at the launch photos of the kia ceed and its even in the same color as the hatch focus! wats really bugging me is the fact the interior is more ceed than any other aspect of it, says alot about kia that ford is now even copying there design

Although I like it, it looks nice on a whole, something is wrong, like the intake and the tail lights, but other than that, spot-on Ford
