Heffner Performance Audi R8 Twin Turbo New Photos and Video

This video snippet shows the upcoming Heffner-treated Audi R8 going from second to fourth gear on the freeway. As is typical with video footage, the car's true power potential cannot really be seen on a screen. Its pull however, should be quite hectic in real life.

Heffner is going for a factory look and feel with their twin turbo system. They want customers to get more than what the standard car offers but without feeling like they had visited a backyard garage mechanic to achieve that.

At the moment the car is said to run 6PSI and an 11.8 to 1 air/fuel ratio. It kicks out 536 rear wheel hp but should attain about 600rwhp after drinking 100 octane fuel. Heffner reckons these changes will give it a quarter mile time in the high 10 second range.

Beautiful exhaust collector. I bet its a true fire hazard now, though.

I like more horsepower as much as the next guy, but if that means I have to moon the general public to get it, that's where I draw the line. And to be honest, 536bhp on conventional fuel, I may as well get the V10 which comes with 100% of the car whereas this only comes with 95%, which would be able to handle in the wet and snow, and would have that unique V10 sound.

The rear is taken off to showcase the excellent craftsmanship. It's illegal to drive a car missing the rear crash absorber. However, like i stated above, I'd be concerned of fire (or at least heat-soak damage) with everything bolted back together. Even Audi couldn't put a turbo R8 together without burning prototypes to the ground...

LOL! I can't believe some of you guys think the finished product is gonna be delivered looking like a de-pantsed fifth grader. I've seen Heffner's work before, & I can assure you that the rear bodywork will be intact. It was just removed for pictures.
