2010 Honda CR-Z New Leaked Images Pulled from Mystery Video
2010 Honda CR-Z leaked video screen captures 04.01.2010 - 700

A new set of leaked images showcasing the 2010 Honda CR-Z have hit the web.  The images appear to be screenshots from a video, the source of which is unknown.

These screenshots show the vehicle in real-world conditions, using a six-speed manual gearbox, but a CVT will also be offered.  Images show the car from head-on, and behind, with a look that will no-doubt bring more customers to the Honda hybrid.  Inside, the car looks to have a button to turn off traction control, and we can clearly see the buttons the driver will use to select Sport, Normal, and Econ driving modes.

This is the second leak related to the CR-Z in less than a month.  Previously, we brought you a series of images and details taken from a leaked copy of the brochure for the Japanese market launch.  The sales packet says the hybrid coupe will have a 1.5-liter 113-horsepower petrol engine producing up to 145 Nm of torque, mated to a 10-kiloWatt, 78 Nm electric motor.

The combination will let the car sprint to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds, about a half-second faster than the Toyota Prius.  Expect the CR-Z to travel 25 kilometers per liter of fuel, or about 58.8mpg.  This figure is definitely better than the Prius' 51/48 estimated mpg.

Japan's number two automaker will launch the 2010 Honda CR-Z in February.  European, North American, and African markets will get their launch later in the year.

The idea with hybrids is that they perform like bigger engines and give the economy of a smaller engine. I'm very intrigued as to what this particular car's like. Honda seems to be saying it's like having cake and eating it, with hybrid economy and a sports feel.

I really didn't want to, but I have to say that it doesn't look like a Honda at all... apart from the lower edges of the grill. However what I see is a Mazda RX-8 front with Audi headlights! And just notice the silly thing that looks like a wiper on the glass roof. I AM NOW WAITING FOR THE COPYCAT HUNTERS TO COMMENT - what would you say now when it is not about a Hyundai...?!

so, what's the point to have this, while Honda has Insight? performance about the same... is Honda wanna create a new CR-X, then it needs better performance! otherwise, it's just another Honda Insight (the 1st gen)! & current Insight already a big loser against Prius.

that gaping maw in the front will no doubt fill itself with Acura's shield grill so that Acura can also have a sporty hybrid. I bet the Acura gets a better engine as well ( Acura Integra). Other than the rx8 nose it looks like Honda copied all of Audi/VWs design language. This thing doesn't look like a Honda.

Could that satnav display be any further away from the drivers sight and still be on the dash?

Do you drive looking at the satnav display or looking out the wind screen? I prefer looking out the window. And I have never needed a satnav although I do drive quite a lot. A recent study also showed that using a satellite navigation system actually causes the section of your brain you use for navigation to shrink. To get back to the car, it really does look like a mix of Honda S2000, Mazda RX8 and VW/Audi at the front. The rear reminds me of the original Honda CRX, though...

Why does it have to be a hatchback, Why...Why...Why???I hate hatchbacks...why not a Sedan... Whats wrong with these people...are they crazy? Dont take me wrongly guys, I love Hybrids...in fact I'm looking forward to buy one...when I have the money of course. Toyota Prius - ugly hatchback Honda CR-Z - ugly hatchback Volvo Hybrid - ugly hatchback For God's sake people give me a ****ing good looking and cheap Hybrid Sedan...like Ford Fusion Hybrid and where the hell is GM's Chrysler 200C?

for a cheap fuel efficient hybrid they are all hatchbacks for a no of reasons, firstly the co drag efficiency is much better on a hatchback, weight saving, and of course the fact that most of the world apart from america prefers hatchbacks over saloons. and as americans prefer a gas guzzler to efficiency they are of course going to design the car based to the tastes of the rest of the world. there are saloon hybrids by merc and lexus but they ar attached to big petrol engines, may be u should wait till u can afford that

oh but i must say this is one of the ugliest cars ever, that dash board looks like an early learning centres toy, i love the dash on the civic but this is awful it looks really old, and a bit of a step back in terms of jap interior design

Great, now the Insight has a Coup?-like-design 3-door hatchback in addition to the 5-door hatchback, like a Renault M?gane... Except that the M?gane Coup? has better engines than the 5-door. More seriously this car is utterly pointless: less practical and less comfortable/firmer than the Insight, without being faster. I am not expecting a 300hp drivetrain, but currently it won't be much quicker than any midrange diesel competitors.

You wait over a decade for a new CR-Z and it peeves you off even before you drive it! Tut! Tut! It would be a miracle if this car sells as it should, let alone handle as expected!
