This is just a silly and overpriced sticker which says, "My other car is an Aston Martin".

I figure they would do something like that. Don't worry, a Cygnet body kit will come out soon and everyone in Asia will be driving an AM Cygnet...LOL.

You are right, it is not a good reason to buy it because for instance I will buy toyota iq then I will replace the rims, front and rear bumpers with the fake fiber glass Cygnet bumpers, then everybody will think that I have at least one aston martin :))

Why an owner of a dashing sports utility wanna buy something hideous like this?

are you serious, if you own a Aston do you really think that you'd even consider this. People that buy Aston have no money shortage and no worries about if they have anough for fuels and maintenace costs. give me a break. this just looks like a Vantage after been placed in a compactor after a few thousands pounds of pressure. Truely what a waste of designers time.

Maybe it could be for the daughter, babysitter whatever... At some point, I think Aston should *offer* it to anyone ordering a fullsize Aston (just like other brands offer a keychain)

I like the comedy of the name.....the cygnet. Although this is one baby swan that is unlikely to grow in to something better looking. A real ugly duckling. Finally - Aston will soon have to replace it's designers because they have lived off Ian Callum's designs for too long....

Thank goodness, I would hate to be offered the opportunity to buy such a hideous piece of crap! Oh, and it looks like a smart car :P This is going to be a massive failure. If I had an REAL Aston, why would I buy and drive this piece of rubbish around?!

Because a full-size Aston is a little cumbersome as a shopping basket.

Aston drivers don't go shopping, they have people for that ;)

So if someone was to buy a very old aston martin from the scrapyard, can they still get a Cygnet?

Clever way of getting around the future CAFE standards imposed on auto mfgs. Thier fleet average mileage can be easily met with these "sales" (giveaways) with each purchase.

I think it's a brilliant idea, and I say that as someone who loves Astons and hates Toyotas with a passion. The iQ is actually the only Toyota that I loved to drive, it's very similar to the old Mini in its character. And it feels like a "grown up car" even at 100mph on highway (and I drove the less powerful one). If I were in position to buy a new DBS, I would certainly order this as well. First, because I love the idea of offering another car as accesory, second, because iQ is brilliant little car in town while, as someone said before, "real" Astons pretty much suck downtown.

?20,000 and ?30,000 ($32000 - $48000) for 97 hp is a complete and utter JOKE, regardless of badge!
December 30, 2009 10:01 pm
 otakki otakki
That goes to show you how much people are willing to pay just to have the badge. Same goes for lots of brand stuffs. Anyway, there is nothing a Cygnet body kit can't do to a Toyota iQ for a lot less money...easy.

The reason people bought an Aston Martin is so they don't get stuck with this kind of crap. Poor move AM.
