A tuned Porsche 911 Turbo, dubbed the TR-1000, has hit a top speed of 391.7 km/h (243.4 mph) at the ATP automotive testing circuit in Papenburg, Germany.

While details are limited, the 9ff TR-1000 has a flat-six engine with larger turbochargers, an improved intercooler, sport camshafts, titanium con rods, crankshaft, a sport air filter, a revised ECU, and a high performance exhaust system. Thanks to these tweaks, the engine produces a stunning 1000 hp at 7800 rpm and 1040 Nm of torque. This allows the TR-1000 to accelerate from:

  • 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 sec
  • 100-200 km/h (124.3 mph) in 4.8 sec
  • 200-300 km/h (186.4 mph) in 8 sec
  • 300-360 km/h (223.7 mph) in 16 seconds

...before topping out at the aforementioned 391.7 km/h (although 9ff thinks the car could eventually exceed 400 km/h with improved aerodynamics).

As you can imagine, 9ff had to make some modifications to ensure the TR-1000 would remain stable at high speeds. Changes include a modest body kit with a front splitter, modified side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a rear wing, plus a high performance braking system, and an adjustable sports suspension with aluminum dampers.

Reportedly built for a Greek millionaire's 25-year-old girlfriend, the conversion from 911 Turbo to 9ff TR-1000 took approximately €130,000 ($186,900 USD).

Wow. Just wow.

It's interesting to see that they've moved away from the low, streamlined likes of the similarly-powered, 254mph GT9. Is that not considered a 911 because it's been so heavily modified?

Yes, the GT9 is technically no longer a 911 anymore. If memory serves, it shares only 2 percent of components with a GT3, it's mid-engined, steel tube fame with carbon fiber and kevlar sub structures.

So how did the McLaren powered by a BMW v12 with under 700hp top out that fast as well? And that was 20 years ago.

The Mclaren was a revolutionary car ahead of its time obviously. It is the best car of all time so far and the benchmark for everyone.

This porsche is pretty amazing though, specially cause it looks pretty stock on the outside.

simply because the price didnt matter

The McLaren was made of carbon fiber and the short frontal section of the McLaren is more aerodynamically efficient.

At that point aerodynamics would be the imperative ingredient for a higher top speed.

amazing, I found it amusing that even though the driver was going almost 300kph and he still had the time to talk to the guy and even glance at him.

all these cars inching closer and closer to the veyron and even passing it is still missing something. comfort, noise reduction/elimination and quality fit and finish in my opinion. look at this video, and look at the top speed runs for the veyron and its amazing to see the difference. cool porsche and all, but it won't last hahhaha greek millionaires 25 year old girlfriend. hahhaha unless she's danica patrick or the RING taxi girl its safe to say this car is not safe in her hands.

LOL!!!! Yeah, you just read my mind. Unless she's related to the likes that of Danica Patrick, or Sabine Schmitz, you can go ahead an chalk this car up as a loss!

THIS IS INSANE my god and i thought the veyron was the ultimate car. my guess one more year and 250 mph will be a normal speed for hypercars if tuners continue at this rate

speed isn't everything. the Veyron's stability at max speed is unmatched and you can drive it as an everyday car, that's what makes the Veyron the ultimate car.

so that s.ut gets a thousand hp car.... and she will crash it into the first pole. what can a girl/woman use this car for? more prfound put, what does this mean to her? what value does is have? didsnt she better asked for some million dollar necklace?..or smthing like that. it is a stupid gift, in my opinion. i wouldnt give to my girlfriend a hypercar even if id be the richest guy in the milky f..king way. it is just lame. and i bet my ass this guy is 99 yrs old and she's 25.
