nederina i work for bmw and your right the E92 v8 at 4.0L does produce that kind of power, but at the same time i bet the ford 5.0L doesnt cost $24,000 for a short block like bmw, this is more bang for buck, not precision and power.

yep, they can sorta. they can get that performance out of a 4.0 v8 even if that v8:
-would be short 95lb ft of torque
-requires premium fuel
-sit in a car that achieved lower gas mileage than the mustang (14/20mpg vs this mustang's 17/25 or 16/24)
-sit in a car that costs so much more and isn't even really comparable to the mustang....
but you're right. bmw could get that hp (only hp) with their 4.0 v8. but... what's your point?

IT does sounds wicked, can't wait to see how Roush tuned this car, cause they make the best handling Mustang if I'm right

It's nice to see Ford finally respond. But man, I wish they'd do something about that paint! it's shameful on the close up around the emblem. Hm. I might might be liking the Mustang interior more than the Camaro. Not by a lot though.

not really a fan of american cars, but damn thats a fine looking car, decent engine to match, just hope the build quality is upto to par with the germans.

Much better than all those smaller turbocharged engines. This comes close to the first one

This engine is from Australia and has been used down there for a fairly long time. Nothing new.....

radmeister, Ford Australia uses the old 5.4 liter V8, this new V8 is a 5.0 and has Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT).

Well the return of the 5.0 is welcome, but it will still come up short if Ford doesn't address that live rear axle which has been the "epic fail" point of all bad ass Mustangs. I'm a GM guy, but I have to say I am digging the new GT500 but I'll never buy one without IRS.

I'm all for being smart about costs to survive. But, what happened to giving customers options even if we pay a little extra? I think American automakers would win back some loyalty if they pushed a modern version of COPO. BMW, Audi, Porsche, Ferrari et al have stepped up and really pushed customization from special paint to body/wheel accessories and performance enhancements.
I got lucky. The Ford dealer I purchase through is authorized Roush and regularly orders FRP fitted models. They also go out of their way to make sure you know your install options. Most dealers (my experience as a buyer and professionally) don't really care about what they get off the truck. Sales people don't know anything about trim codes. "Oh, what's a pack?". "Yea those Goodyears are Limited Slip."
