Mercedes are so dumb! Not only does this look horrible, it also makes the regular coupe and sedan look bad! Seriously, who in there right f****in mind would think that this looks good.

you are a nut job. this car is absolutely gorgeous, this is the best looking 4 seat cabriolet on the market. it looks absolutely stunning in that first pic. classy, elegant, athletic, bold, tasteful--everything the bmw and audi offerings are not.

I honestly think this is a beautiful car. It has much of the boldness that many other cars in its segment such as the A5 and 3 Series lack. I prefer the coupe by a far margin but I think this is one of the best looking convertibles out in the market. Wish they'd just make a 4-Matic version of the coupe/cabriolet.

You are just trying to criticise this perfect car. There is a difference between Mercedes Benz and BMW buyers. When MB buyer looks at a car he says: When can I order it? and BMW: How much does it cost?

Bet you are some 20 year old that still lives with his mom and occasionally drives his father's car

Indeed a very classy looking car. Only rear lights and fender got too big if you ask me. However, nederina, you're right. Just have a look at the car's measurements and you can guess it's based upon the C-platform (which it actually is).

yeah and the Maybach is based on the previous generation S-Class, what's your point? I've been driven around the block in a Maybach and own a previous gen. S500 and they could not be more different. Just because two cars share a platform doesn't make them the "same car with minor changes" as your comment suggests.

No reason to get offensive! So lucky you that you had the chance to drive in a Maybach and on top of that own a S500. I just thought to stick up for nederina because he is basically right that this E-Class Convertible replaces the former CLK. My post did not imply that there were only "minor changes" between C- and E-Series.

Yes it is true that the W240 Maybach is based on a modified W140 S-Class. I've seen the latest E-Class coupe parked next to the current C-Class saloon and the new E-Class saloon, and I have to say that the new E-Class coupe or cabriolet is the new CLK that has a closer dimension to the C-Class. The only coupe that is going to be based on the E-Class saloon is the CLS and the next SL. I won't mind platform sharing, I think it is good to keep the cost down and the C-Class chassis is good if not brilliant. I just have a problem calling the E-Class coupe which it isn't.

The problem with Merc is their so much diversified product lines. Cant see a practical dif in this vs CL vs SL? although all of them are very beautiful.

The SL is a 2 seater and begins around USD $ 89,000

No. The SL starts at 99K and is a two seater roadster that's been around forever. The CL is a relatively newer 110K car that focuses more on elegance than performance.

Well I am flabbergasted :-D What a beautiful car. I am placing my order for the V8 and shall be contacting my local dealer today to work out the specs without even seeing the list as yet. Just cannot wait to be one of the first drivers on from the general public on the road with this absolutely drop-dead gorgeous looking car. Well done Mercedes Benz. As far as I am concerned You all in that company have done it again and I thank you all ;-)

E for Elegance. Great LED foglights and new interpretation of twin headlamp design, luxuriously modern interior and the hindquarter wheel bulge is an allusion to forthcoming AMG/BRABUS treatments. Roof drama whilst in motion can seal the deal on the spot! I hope this design form continues as the E was on the 2010 ECOTY Award shortlist.

The last CLK, the C209 is based on the W203 C-Class and while the first generation C202 CLK is based on the first generation W208 C-Class. The W124 Mercedes comes with various bodies with a single platform, the E-Class Saloon, T-Wagen, while the Coupe and Cabriolet that is both known as the CE. Today?s so-called C207 E-Class coupe/cabriolet however borrowed various parts from the W204 C-Class; as well as the chassis platform and the dimension is closer to the W204 and not the W212 E-Class. They shouldn?t killed the CLK badge after create some of the finest CLK variant like the CLK GTR, CLK DTM, CLK 63 Black Series. I believe they?re not going to create any two-door coupe based on today?s W212 E-Class platform but the next CLS and the SL replacement.

Where is the C-class based cabrio or coupe? I'm betting MB will bring back the CLK name (it was so popular and a well known indentity) and create another vehicle based on the c class platform to take on the successful and brilliant 1 series, and finally get rid of that horrendous CLC.

I don't see why this should be an ugly car, I think it looks more than just good and at least it hasn't got a metal roof.
