Jaguar may launch a new XJ-R to compete with the Mercedes S63 AMG.
While nothing is official, AutoGespot decided to create a couple of renderings to depict what the XJ-R may look like (if it goes into production). Taking several cues from XF-R, the XJ-R would likely feature new front and rear fascias, hood vents, and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.
Power would likely come from a modified version of the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 from the XF-R and the XJ Supersport. Packing more than 510 hp, the XJ-R could accelerate from 0-60 mph in around 4.5 seconds.

Looks absolutely amazing. God I love this car. Looks like Jaaaag is really coming back to life. They reported profit this year. To bad they're closing down the factory in UK.
this is not a rendering from Jaguar...

Thank you so much for your insight.
I thought I read JLR ruling out another XJR?
hey he's making progress from "VW the largest manufacturer in the world"
Not from Jaaaag, the front finders are different in the front and rear shoots, but the front looks promising
thanks for that. if only the car was REALLY in fact ugly, which it is not. jags are coming are long way and damn they are sexy right now
Thank you TaTa,
You have brought back the REAL Jaguar...
Beautiful.
And everyone said TATA would ruin the company. But then again, they couldn't be any more negligent than Ford was.
Wrong -- this model was already in the pipeline while Ford was still in charge.
Just because 'a' new XJ was in the works, doesn't mean 'this' XJ was in the works...
The same design team exists at Jaguar while Ford owned them and now that TaTa owns them. The design team has always been separate and it's own and will remain that way. Google up on them, they're very advanced and looks like a great place to work.
Speculative or not, that stretched skin over bone design language upfront is still a success. Tata already had British brands in its portfolio so, it was in a great position to appreciate and nurture Jaguar/Land Rover heritage. GM just sold SAAB to a Beijing car company. Remember it was all Rover for Rover/MG when it ended up in the hands of Nanjing of China few years back? Say no more!
wonderfull for xjr.hope also the power will be incresed just tobe different than the xj supersport
