A futuristic hybrid concept

Slavche Tanevsky, a student at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, has created this futuristic Lamborghini design concept.

Dubbed the Madura (named after an Indonesian island famous for bull races), the concept was created - in collaboration with Lamborghini and Audi designers - for Lamborghini's Raw Materials Project.

According to Tanevsky, "The Madura is a proposal for the first hybrid Lamborghini scheduled for 2016. Doing a car more efficient and more nature-friendly, doesn't mean it shouldn't be exciting, good-looking and fast. (But) in my opinion this new propulsion system should be represented on the looks of the car."

While it's vaguely reminiscent of the Reventón and the Estoque concept, the whole design of the Madura is sleeker, more focused, and more aggressive. Up front, the Madura features slim headlights (to emphasize the cars' width), huge air intakes, and a curvaceous hood. Out back, the front-mounted hybrid powertrain allowed Tanevsky to create a maze of intricate lines which helps to give the car a unique appearance.

Resembles the saleen raptor .

I don't think it's nice even if it's a student concept.

Maby as a hot wheel toy.

No afense to the students

Yep the Saleen S5S Raptor and the Toyota FT-HS Concept had one night stand and this is the result.

Shades of the LFA in there too.

That's what I thought of when I first saw this. An LFA minus an A-post.

and a bit of BMW EfficientDynamics flava too. It's not bad but not entirely cohesive IMO.

I really like it :) but i think the front is way to chunky! if they sort of droped a 500Kg weight, on the front to squeeze it a bit, it would be just about the best looking car of the future :P

By the looks of it I dont even think the car has been supervised by Filippo Perini ... "new propulsion system should be represented on the looks of the car" correct attitude though.. watch out for the architecture...

Lamborghinis are beautiful sculptures and I think they should have less German aggression influence on their design like large grilles, big air intakes, silly headlights or extremely large wheels. Guess the new generation of super/hypercars will be a lot more subtle.

This is no German design because the designer have a Balkan name, just the front needs more work the rest is very cool.

I don't believe this concept fits into the evolution of Lamborghini's design language. Considering where the design has been and is now, the angles of this car are too aggressive and in the wrong places as well. It would seem that the designer didn't fully decide whether or not this was to be a front or mid engined vehicle. If to be anything more than a touring model one would assume the center of a large engine would have to be placed well behind the front axle, unless it would be placed transversely as in the Miura (which this seems to evoke to me for some reason). If it's to fit in to the current crop of bulls, the hood should have been shorter and everything should have been drawn forward. The wheels were also rendered charcaciturely large. If all these things were adjusted back within reason I think it would look like a proper Lambo. Definitely some cool things going on with the surfaces though.

As concepts go, it's pretty 'out there'.

I think the Insecta concept looks a whole lot better and more original than this.

a little bit LFA in it but its till looks nice and a little bit of Muira in the rear and a little bit of murcialago air scoops in the B pilar i dunno i like but i dont maybe if they built it we all might appreciate it or maybe not but overall i like it but i agree Metatron22 the insecta concept is alot better looking but since this is a hybrid it would still look good

Can anyone say Bertone Mantide? THis looks almost identical to the ZR1-based other italian supercar.

the headlights remind me of the "Fast" from the Golf GTI commercials.

without any costing and manufacturability constraints, these concept cars are actually quite ugly....

that's because their form doesn't absolutely have to follow function and therein lies the true beauty of a materialized automobile.
