I don't know how it is in the US, probably like in canada. You either pay the tax at the dealer or at the vehicle registration office. In ontario it's an extra 13% on a new car bought from a dealer, 5% when you buy a used car from a private seller (13% for a used car from a dealer)...Which means this car would set you back in canada(if it were the same price) 25,993.50$ in taxes for a grand total of 225,943.50$ OUCH! Ah i forgot the gas guzzler tax, and Air Con. tax :)

Nice. I am impressed with the space in that car, at least from the pictures. While the Panamera is nearly $60,000 less, the Rapide looks a lot better, imo.

Holly, a bit pricy. You can buy a continental flying spur for that much. I'll take a CL63 and deck it out in all the Designo offerings, or a Panamera Turbo S individualized for the extra 60k to the max.

With that price i'ld rather go for CL65 which is million times better and more powerfull, luxury is there though

I agree that a fully kitted CLS AMG or CL would be my choice also...but Aston market is a sportscar maker of a higher order than Porsche and the Aston should look, perform and cost more than the Porsche. I wonder if Aston Martin thought of building a smaller brother for the Rapide built of the Vantage Platform. Stick a couple of turbos on the V8 and a price less than US $130,000 and I will buy it.

Just wait for the Rapide DBS, or RapideS haha. What would be cool. I really like this car. It looks beautiful. But if I were to choose a car in this class today I would have experienced some decision problems. For instance I really like the massive new Bentley Mulsanne! But I guess I would pick this over an Porsche Panamera. Even though the panamera looks really nice in the sprint blue 9ff colour.

Read Evo's test and they said Panamera isn't as driver involve as it should be, unlike the Maserati Quattroporte, which I rather choose if I want looks, sounds and handling. The Aston might seem a tad expensive, but if money isn't an issue for you, the Rapide would be the choice

Sure it's expensive, but it is by far the best looking four-door on the market except for maybe the Phantom. And what is this public misconception about the Rapide supposedly being cheap? It should be expensive.

 M! M!
i am 100% most certain that the rapide will depreciate more rapide than the DB9 and DBS.

Looks are subjective, an opinion. What is better objectively then The Porsche Panamera?
