More camouflage pieces seem to be coming off the Mercedes-Benz R-Class facelift as evidenced by these fresh spy pictures. Very little is left to the imagination and it's quite clear that Mercedes have made the front end to resemble current models in the brand's stable.

A new front bumper, headlights, LED daytime running lights, bonnet and redesigned side mirrors are featured. Upgrades to the back end include LED lights, a new bumper and different tailpipes.

There should be engine modifications and additions as well, including tried and tested BlueEfficiency and BlueTec motors. We might even see a hybrid model sharing its basic powertrain architecture with the S 400 Hybrid. It's also probable that the interior will receive its own facelift to include gadgets like the new COMAND system with Split Screen technology and Night View Assist.

Expect the new R-Class to debut at 2010 North American Auto Show in Detroit after which it will sell as a 2011 model.

A note to Mercedes - check the sales report. This is not selling. Find out why and fix it or get rid of this ugly thing. You are now selling 4 different SUV's, and a few different wagons, is this really necessary?

i hate this car. it's 2 long and needs some roof racks, and to be higher up off the ground... or just buy an M class. I wish they wuld stop making it. now. no one buys these. Ive only seen 3 since 2006 on the road.

The R 63 was a monster of a people mover. Some of us might actually need a people mover, so I have no idea why you're all knocking it.

The R-Class is not very attractive, but it carries 6 people in total comfort and is smooth and quiet. They don't sell near as many of these as they sell ML's, but I see quote a few around Dallas, TX. We eat a lot of cheese burgers around here ya know...

I love the R-class even since it debut. But I always have doubts about this front head lamp, it always bugs me, though! It's good that they finally managed to changed the design of the head lamp, and now I can consider it to be a very nic looking card.
