I'm willing to join Italian Police just so I can drive this car with authority.

I'm not sure if its possible that a Gallardo with a Mercedes A-Class welded to its roof will be capable of being driven "with authority."

This is funny, but sad at the same time. So the driver swerved to avoid hiting another car...... RIGHT..... That his story and he's sticking to it. I know certain officer of the Italian Polizia that will be taking a steep pay cut this xmas, for repairs to their beloved squad-car.

Fail! That's why cops should stick to Crown Vics and Astra Diesels.

you stupid moron's, you got a chance to drive this car legally and you get too excited

the road does look suspiciously humid... maybe its just the glare from the lights b/c the italians aparently polish their roads.

Good job there! You managed to avoid one car and destroy 3 in the process... ~Newsworthy~

Lol at all the little kid angst here. When you slam on the breaks, the front of the car does a nose dive. Given that the Lambo is already so low to the ground, it's easy to see how the Mercedes wound up on top.
None of us were there, and your immediate assumption that the officer that was driving is at fault just shows your ignorance. There are experts that can reconstruct this accident to see what exactly happened. Seeing how far he is from his lane, it would suggest that he was trying to avoid something, but he's still fairly straight with the road.

if youre driving on a road that has cars parked on it, with merging traffic and you end up like this you are an asshole plain and simple. there is no scenerio that would exempt the driver from blame. you dont end up like this going the speed limit or driving responsibly. endagering peoples lives like this is shameful no doubt they will cook up some bs story to cover their asses

You missed my point. All of you are so quick to pass judgment with absolutely zero facts it's just hilarious.

Mint I think you need to take a look at the photo. the floor looks wet, the car is facing the correct direction on the correct side of the road. Honestly I agree with Xenicide, that it could be an accident and not entirely the police's fault.
The problem is now adays these supercars are too easy to drive that a lady could drive it to shopping with high heal, and people forgot that these are V10 monsters!! probably the cops don't even know the fat tires and the 8 Piston brakes needs to be warmed up after display......

Although I agree with your point about jumping to conclusions, I respectfully disagree with you. Given the extent of the damage to the Lambo as well as the Mercedes roof ornament, I could reasonably "assume" (not claiming to be an expert) that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed. This is not uncommon for law enforcement. If the car was traveling at that high a speed, I would deduce that this accident didn't start at the point where this picture was taken. Therefore, his resting position in respect to the lane cannot be used to determine if he did in fact try to avoid something. I am not saying he didn't, just saying that his position in the lane can't be used to determine that because the avoidance "probably" took place behind where the car came to rest.

exotics are for posers. theres a reason Lambo doesnt race professionally: they would lose to vettes, porsche, bmw, ferrari, and so on.
December 1, 2009 8:48 pm
except that they do race
http://www.projectlemans.de/images/stories/2006/FIAGT3/02_Oschersleben/fiagt30002.jpg
and the Gallardo 560 is better and faster in the real world than the F430 Scuderia.
December 1, 2009 9:18 pm
'Wrecked Exotics' should find a burgeoning market out there, with the highest bidder bidding for the most unsightly wreckage and depending on the brand, of course. "Do we have a $50,000 over there to start with?"

whatever the circumstances ... shit can happen to anyone at anytime ...
but I still do not get how police forces can have such cars ... when you know maintenance and repair manpower costs ... at least problem solved for this one

If i am vaguely right, Lambo's r made in Italy and I ams ure this was a gift and with nodoubt there would be consessions on both sides as this car was more of a a marketing tool than respons vehicle as the artical tell's us it had just come from a exhibition where I am guessing it was not responding to pick pocketer!!!

this was one of the cars Lambo donated to the Italian police. the primary role of this car is to transport donor organs to hospitals. in some places helicopters can't land so you need a fast police car for that job.
December 2, 2009 11:54 am
This is why its wrong of the police authorities to get their hands on a 560hp Gallardo.
December 2, 2009 1:37 am
Maybe the Police wants the latest Lambo, but I don't think that is going to happen as they're better off in a Seat. They could put the remaining wrecked in the Lambo museum.
December 2, 2009 1:51 am
I don't think any police officer should be given a car with more HP then the ones that they already have. With that much HP obviously your gonna want to have a fun and try something stupid/showoff.
And why are Lamborghini's the most to showed up wreck on the internet ?
December 2, 2009 2:48 am
I just don't see the benefit of giving an officer a lambo. If it they were looking into catching faster cars an evo or STI would do the job just fine with a fraction of the price
