A Lamborghini Gallardo was destroyed after the police officer driving the supercar crashed into two parked cars.  The accident took place following an exhibition in Cremona, Italy, where Italian police had the car on display.

Newspaper reports have sourced an official police statement claiming that the officer driving the Lambo swerved to avoid a car exiting a gas station.  How the Mercedes-Benz A-Class wound up on top of the car is anyone's guess.

Both police officers in the car were injured, with the driver suffering a ruptured vertebra and broken ribs.  The pair were taken to the hospital, and should recover.

Damages to the 5.0-liter V10 Lamborghini Gallardo were extensive.  It is unclear if the car will be repaired.

I'm willing to join Italian Police just so I can drive this car with authority.

I'm not sure if its possible that a Gallardo with a Mercedes A-Class welded to its roof will be capable of being driven "with authority."

This is funny, but sad at the same time. So the driver swerved to avoid hiting another car...... RIGHT..... That his story and he's sticking to it. I know certain officer of the Italian Polizia that will be taking a steep pay cut this xmas, for repairs to their beloved squad-car.

Lol at all the little kid angst here. When you slam on the breaks, the front of the car does a nose dive. Given that the Lambo is already so low to the ground, it's easy to see how the Mercedes wound up on top.

None of us were there, and your immediate assumption that the officer that was driving is at fault just shows your ignorance. There are experts that can reconstruct this accident to see what exactly happened. Seeing how far he is from his lane, it would suggest that he was trying to avoid something, but he's still fairly straight with the road.

if youre driving on a road that has cars parked on it, with merging traffic and you end up like this you are an asshole plain and simple. there is no scenerio that would exempt the driver from blame. you dont end up like this going the speed limit or driving responsibly. endagering peoples lives like this is shameful no doubt they will cook up some bs story to cover their asses

You missed my point. All of you are so quick to pass judgment with absolutely zero facts it's just hilarious.

Mint I think you need to take a look at the photo. the floor looks wet, the car is facing the correct direction on the correct side of the road. Honestly I agree with Xenicide, that it could be an accident and not entirely the police's fault.

The problem is now adays these supercars are too easy to drive that a lady could drive it to shopping with high heal, and people forgot that these are V10 monsters!! probably the cops don't even know the fat tires and the 8 Piston brakes needs to be warmed up after display......

Although I agree with your point about jumping to conclusions, I respectfully disagree with you. Given the extent of the damage to the Lambo as well as the Mercedes roof ornament, I could reasonably "assume" (not claiming to be an expert) that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed. This is not uncommon for law enforcement. If the car was traveling at that high a speed, I would deduce that this accident didn't start at the point where this picture was taken. Therefore, his resting position in respect to the lane cannot be used to determine if he did in fact try to avoid something. I am not saying he didn't, just saying that his position in the lane can't be used to determine that because the avoidance "probably" took place behind where the car came to rest.
