Who is responsible for the Design?
Aren't there a lot of people signing documents in the video?

@scratchy
Credit where credit is due... but I gotta think of Scrubs' Elliott saying "Shhnitzell" anyway.
Phonetic type ftw. :)

Ah, Augsburg.

@Lenco:
Aber du bist nicht Audi-Werksangeh?riger, oder? :D
Ein guter Freund von mir arbeitet bei einem Hersteller von Werkzeugen und Prototypenfahrzeugen und muss da immer runter... und die Gastfreundschaft sieht dann immer so aus, dass er schonmal Kopfschmerzen hat. :)

@ceven

My GOD get on with it... Nobody wants to hear all the Audi history once again... Just show the car already!
November 30, 2009 10:13 pm
They all just gotta have their fifteen minutes. :)
From what I've seen yet, the overall car should be a blend of A4 and A6 shapes with fancy new lights. Fancier, in fact, than the A4s. That ditched line in the headlights really make the car look more menacing, grinning. Rear lights are ... well, that's just how you do them these days, I am however glad they didn't go the "see how many LEDs are in here!" route. Clean reddish and somewhat attractive rear light clusters are nice and still rare (for comparison: Kia Sorento).
What I'm waiting for will be the interior. Audis are all somewhat alike if you climb inside, with just the TT and R8 standing out a tiny bit. This has to be something new, otherwise it shall be partial failure.
Well... just switched to the other tab and that one guy's still babbling... :D

Sorry, maybe that's just first impression, but it looks like just facelift for a current A8.
November 30, 2009 10:31 pm
That will grow on you, I'm quite sure.
Personally I'm not sure I'll be O.K. with the cubic low beam LED things. They look cluttered and low-tech.
It needs bigger and different wheels, though. :)

Ceven,
I'm not saying that i dislike it. Actually my opinio is that exterior had to be changed a bit more, as one of the guys during the presentation said, that A8 shows the future of Audi. Sorry, even the shape of all car looks almost identical to the current model, and thats a bit sad.
Anyway, I need some photos to look at.

I totally agree with you Lithuanian. Of course the vehicle looks good but there's no reason why it should grow on me if I'm already used to those shapes. ;) What I'm about to say is that I was hoping for something more. There was a time that I had a real crush on Audis. By now I got bored. Shouldn't the new A8 introduce a new understanding of design for the entire Audi range? They conjured it up so much this night... IMHO its predecessor in 2003 did a better job!

i don't think the car is as well proportioned as some recent offerings from Audi. the A4 and A5 are about spot on. this one is a little odd looking...

let it grow and bow down..
heavenly sent suit for the road...not floassy but classy
