The Mercedes Benz SLS AMG supercar only goes on sale next year but already German tuner MEC Design has presented three design studies for it. Although the styling packages depict what might be the final look, nothing has been decided yet.

"We're very excited about the SLS," said MEC Design CEO Cem Altun. "It's already becoming a classic just like the 300 SL Gullwing. These first studies have received a lot of good feedback and now we just can't wait to get our hands on one."

The first is a front-end canvas featuring a new front bumper with a deep mesh grille and curved side air inlets. Here the Mercedes-Benz three-point star was shifted up to just above the grille in similar fashion to the old SLR McLaren. New side skirts with integrated lighting and 22-inch bi-coloured wheels are proposed.

The second car also concentrates on the front end. It is finished in a golden yellow colour and features three-piece 22-inch wheels. Most of the interior is left untouched apart from the carbon fibre/ Alcantara MEC Design sports steering wheel.

The last design focuses on the rear. A dramatic MEC Design diffuser is fitted as well as a rear spoiler and branded exhaust system with oval chrome tips. The latter promises amazing sound.

MEC Design Take the SLS to Extremes With Their New Studies.

Berlin based tuning company MEC Design release a preview of their styling package for the SLS AMG.

The Mercedes Benz SLS AMG has already become a classic model even before its release next year with fans all over the world eager to get their hands on one. None more so than European tuning company MEC Design who have just released a couple of studies showing just how the SLS might look once they've got their hands on one. MEC Design are known for their extreme tuning and these studies show that they have certainly not lost their touch when it comes to taking things further than most tuners.

The first study shows the SLS AMG from the front. The Mercedes Benz star has moved from the front to make space and now sits above the grill and is very reminiscent of the SLR McLaren which it is replacing. It features a new front bumper which has an extremely deep mesh grill as well as curved side air inlets. The side skirts have been deepened and now feature the MEC Design lighting system which is linked to the interior lighting and lights up when the ignition is turned on or the doors are opened. The SLS look is finished off with the three piece bi-colour 22 inch mecxtremeIII wheels.

The second study shows the rear of the SLS AMG and the extreme look rear diffusor for which MEC Design are already well known. Its part of their 2Face system which allows you to choose between having a more extreme look as shown here or having a more refined elegant finish. A carefully placed rear spoiler finishes off the optics whilst the oval chrome tips of the MEC Design exhaust system enhance the whole experience with its amazing sounds.

The third image shows the front view again but this time in a golden yellow finish along with the three piece 22 inch mecxtremeI wheels.

The interior is left almost original except for the addition of the MEC Design sports steering wheel which has a Carbon Fibre and Alcantara finish to match the rest of the high quality interior.

"We're very excited about the SLS, it's already becoming a classic just like the 300 SL Gullwing. These first studies have received a lot of good feedback and now we just can't wait to get our hands on one", says CEO Cem Altun.

It has not been decided whether these studies from MEC Design will be the final design or whether there will be a small-batch production.

Are these ideas for ruining the SLS? It looks like they tried to find a bumper that blends the GT-R and SLR grill. Not cool.

Ah, now that is pure garbage. The person who came up with this has no design sense whatsoever. Not even newsworthy...waste of WCF space.

ugly design on the red and yellow. back shot looks good but cheap quick photoshops. Maybe if this site would put up my artist render of the Black Series SLS maybe that would get better looks lol

This is a stunning car none the less i can't wait to see all the styling packages to come

Yeah, let's give ps5master92 a chance to design our bodykit! He seems legit, he's good with the "shops" and people from 4chan.org say he's "full of awesome" and "win". That sounds like something good!

What a sick joke..Just disgusting. How anyone could find this attractive is beyond me. Why do you guys even let such an abomination see the light of day on this site?

Though, the rear shot is slightly nice...black rims would work much better.

I agree, but turf-scraping ride height is just too Gangsta booty! Mercs are classy rides for crying out loud! Wait till Fiddy Cent gets his hands on this!

wtF?! what a waste of time, why the hell are this guys trying to tune something that cannot be tuned?! sls stock is already "untuneable"... and those proposals look so...hmm, childish! that looks like: "Yeah, lets put some OZ racing rims, and a bodykit, and a nice aluminium spoiler!" and that front end, that huge mouth...for one day of driving, you need 2weeks of cleaning!

I love this car, I love how it looks, but I don't like the front grille and the "nose" on where the Mercedes-Benz logo is. I think that it looks to much like a Nissan 350Z. If they fixed the "nose" and installed a REAL Mercedes-Benz grille, it would be SO nice! :-)
