Yeah it will not be a worldwide success. Probably sell half decent in China, and thats about it. We won't be seeing MG dealerships popping up like VAG ones anytime...

MG could become several times bigger than the biggest it's ever been on that prophecy alone.
I wish I could excited about this. But I fear the UK has turned its back on the brand some time back. The MG TF has been on sale since earlier this year at a good price and no one cares.

ok... the car looks quite interesting but considering the quality problems MG had before and the chinese parenting I don't know what will be the result

Chinese car (or should I say "cr*p" ?) with UK badge. Bummer, that some Brits will fall for that. But the looks aren't tragic after all...

Maybe quality won?t be too good and maybe it won?t be a huge success. We?ll have to wait till the car has been tested but from the lookings I think they have done a quite good job (exterior and interior), probably one of the best looking chinese cars.

Probably because it was designed and engineered in UK. This car is based on the Rover 75. It's only Chinese by ownership, and build (most of them anyways).

the interior reminds me of the Vel Satis quite a lot, exterior is nice though

I cannot believe Abugatti can say what they have without WCF reprimanding them. I got BANNED from this site for some unknown reason for which WCF NEVER even had the courtesy to tell me why, despite sending the COUNTLESS e mails to explain themselves.
Maybe they would like to explain why Abugatti?s comment was allowed to be added?
Shameful that such comments are allowed?

maybe so but he does have a point about the poor safety record of chinese cars.

everyone seems to forget that China is new to the car industry in an age where safety standards and expectations are so high. i bet if you apply today's expectations to japanese cars when they first started out, they would have performed just as badly if not worse.
gotta give them credit for trying to adopt/reverse-engineer modern technology just like the japanese did. I'm sure they retained MG's design/engineering know how. that's one of the purposes of buying the company anyway!

@thedutchie
that's no excuse for the poor safety of "modern" cars. Anyways, where they were built. If the chinese are honest to produce worldcars they have to revolute their imagine of the way they do that.
@abugatti and freeway. It's free to comment here and there are many senceless posts day for day, but I hope you will learn to have better occupation then writing bullsh*t
and about the car: The design is great, congratulation to the creators. I only don't see anything for calling this a MG
