Toyota turned down an approach from one of F1's new teams to sell the rights to its car design.

It was reported last week that the completed TF110 was for sale, but an official of the Japanese outfit declined to comment.

The Swiss publication Blick reports that a new team made an approach about buying Toyota's 2009 single seater, but the "enquiry was rejected".

Blick speculated that the identity of the enquiring team may have been Lotus.

ahh Lotus... they had close links with Toyota when Toyota made the fabulous MR2, Corolla Levin and other fine Celicas. Turns out, cash- strapped Lotus at that time needed the money so provided much advice and engineering training to the Japanese giant. When this stopped, Toyota's weren't so good to drive anymore.
