Ahead of his NASCAR test in the coming days, Jarno Trulli was this weekend trackside for the Sprint Cup event in Phoenix.

"Nice to see Jarno Trulli here!" the Italian's former formula one rival Juan Pablo Montoya wrote on Twitter.

It is expected that 35-year-old Trulli, a veteran of 219 grands prix, will move on from Toyota's F1 withdrawal by switching to Lotus next year.

But his NASCAR test for Michael Waltrip Racing at the New Smyrna Speedway in Florida has been described as serious.
