The first official teaser for the 2011 BMW 5-Series F10 released earlier this week was met with little enthusiasm.  Fans criticised that the teaser, which showed the silhouette of the F10 body using BMW's kinetic sculpture, didn't reveal enough "skin" to keep fans intrigued or generate further excitement. This reaction is quite understandable as WCF readers have been staring at the F10 body shape for months thanks to our intrepid spy photographers.

However, an anonymous BMW dealer supposedly decided to take matters into his/her own hands, and forwarded to WCF exclusively via a liason this low resolution image of the F10 front corner completely uncovered.

Since the source cannot be verified, we have to emphasize that the alleged F10 image could be a clever digital manipulation.  Compared to spy photos included on this page, there are some differences in the image which don't match, particularly at the rear corner of the headlamp where it meets the fender and bumper fascia. Also, the headlamp washer pump opening is missing from the bumper fascia as well.

Despite the minor discrepancies, the image looks good enough to serve its purpose, which is to intrigue, pique curiosity and perhaps generate excitement for BMW's highly anticipated premium sedan.

We'll let you decide.

Unexciting design... BMW is in a bad place right now... none of their bold designs work and their conservative approaches leave much to be desired... worse nothing elegant has been produced in years... I miss the E34's, E39, E38, E36, E46, etc. etc.

I'ld agree with Mike.F1 that BMW's current design is too bold. Just have a look at the kidneys. If you ask me, they got to predominant. Nonetheless, I guess that the F10 will be at least more decent than X6 and 5 GT. It might even be that it's gonna be really classy. Let's wait for release pictures.

So many cluttered body lines, the purity elegant lines of the E60, E39 and E34 will be missed.

erm... no, far from what I expected

but looking at it, it does look a bit fake, just look at the floor and the reflection. I might be wrong, I don't know

One thing is for sure, it's that this thing is gonna destroy the competition. Goodbye mercedes, goodbye audi :).

Funny how when the E60 was launched, some criticized it and said where's the E39. And now when the F10 will be launched, some have began to say where's the E60 lol.

The low resolution would be a good explanation for forgery.

If this is genuine, I really don't like that they're keeping the same bumper set-up; with the small fog light and that tacky plastic/chrome bar that goes across... Do something different!

But I am VERY positive about the car in general.

Adios Bangle, that God you couldn't ruin this car too!

WOW, other than the length of the bonnet and the relative size of the driver, there's not much difference...

It's a fake! If you compare the leaked photo with the last one you'll see differences. There is no headlights wash system like in the camouflaged car and the front bumper/exterior panel junction isn't the same.

i find this ugly and uninspiring, the a6 is overly bland yet classy in its understatedness, the E and the new Jag are just right.

Clearly a fake. Nice try, though. He or she forgot to add the pop-up headlamp washer cut-out. The overall shape of the car looks very nice and many of us eagerly await the unveiling. I have been patiently waiting for a 5 that I like ever since I went to a local unveiling of the current 5 and found the corners of the cars totally offputting. Seven years is a long time to wait... I hope BMW do not mess this one up, too.

it's not fake. The headlamp is the same, the bumper design, too. The only difference is the washer but it's just an optional gadget for the Xenon light system.

It will be an excellent car but with nothing to boast about regarding design. Sorry...there will be one thing to boast about. It is more handsome than the car it replaces, which was just dreadful. Not as nice as the new E-series IMO.

Chris Bangle's design theme has never been executed perfectly. The new 3 series coupe sells very well and is a good looking car and I see Audi mimicking the lines already with their A4 coupe. E-Class will be a dated design in a few years just like the previous rounded eye model, so not a classic design at all. Evidence is the CLS, take the badge off and unbiased judment will predominantly say its an ugly car. Jags like the design but yet to see drive and quality match the germans.

there's no such thing as "unbiased judgment" when it comes to aesthetics . . . nice comment

I think it must be fake. The panel gaps above the wheelarch are different if you compare the "revealed" shot and the last photo.

People is hard to understand now miss Bangle and before hate him so now. I like Bangle design was complete different and brake the rules. Now I think theirs work is fine but to much conservative they need to use more of theirs CC concept model for sure. I hope they do that with the new 3 series. I hope so , people is waiting to see this. This new 5 series ia like a 7 series but smaller.......but is fine.
