A car whose power figures outdo the Bugatti Veyron?

This is the Zenvo ST1, introduced last year, now with new high-def pics and video available for your indulgence.

The Zenvo ST1 is a Danish supercar that comes with a 7.0 liter V8, both supercharged and turbocharged to 1104 hp and 1430 Nm of torque. Hence the ST moniker. It is also a Bio Flex engine, which means it can run on regular unleaded petrol/gas or E85 bio-ethanol. The ST1 comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a hydraulic limited-slip differential.

Yes, that engine beats the Veyron's 8.0 liter 16-cylinder engine with 1001 hp and 1250 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h or lap time sprints is another matter, the Veyron being a pretty heavy vehicle, but both break the 3 second mark on the former.

The ST1 will be limited to a series of only 15 units produced. Prices have not yet been made available. Check out the press release for more details.

ZENVO PRESS RELEASE

About Zenvo Automotive
A/S Zenvo Automotive is the company behind the first ever build Danish supercar. The company is located in Denmark 45 min. drive from the capital Copenhagen. Zenvo Automotive was founded with only one goal in mind - to produce unique hand built supercars. The research and development for the first prototype started in 2004. The prototype has now been completed and presented for a public audience for the first time at Le Mans 24 hour race.. Zenvo Automotive will start a series production of the car, named the Zenvo ST1. It will be a limited edition with only 15 cars to be built. Whenever possible we use local suppliers and we work closely with our business partners, enabling us to not only source the best components but influence the development process to achieve top performance and great design solutions for the Zenvo.

Zenvo ST1
The first supercar coming from Zenvo Automotive is called Zenvo ST1. S stands for Supercharger, T for Turbo and 1 for model number one. For the engineers and designers within Zenvo Automotive, a clear list of criteria was made to ensure the car would not only be a track worthy supercar but a car that would be suitable for everyday use. The ST1 even though so powerful, is very drivable. It retains the unique feeling of driving a hand built supercar while still delivering the needs of modern motoring and safety. The car is 100% built in Denmark. From its impressive list of mechanical specifications to its striking pose the Zenvo ST1 is the result of clever Danish design. All these features are blended together to form a vehicle that demands attention but remains purposeful and practical. The frame is steel space frame and the body is in carbon.

Design
The car is 100% Danish design. Denmark has always been known around the world for its cutting edge design and for the first time \"Danish Design\" has been applied to a Supercar! The design of the Zenvo ST1 is made from free flowing accelerating lines creating the shapes of the wheel arches, the roof lines, side line and the lower side air intake. The sharp lines are connected by muscular organic surfacing creating dramatic reflections. The front is designed around the hexagonal trademark Zenvo grille flanked by the large front air intakes used for brake cooling and housing the front light. The theme of the front is repeated in the rear which is designed around the big diffuser necessary for high speed stability and down force. As on the front the center volume is flanked by large air exits extracting hot engine air as well as housing the exhausts and rear lights. The rear spoiler, mandatory for a car capable of extreme high speeds, is partly integrated. It has a unique aerodynamic design following the raked shape of the rear end.

Comfort & Luxury
The Zenvo ST1 is equipped with all modern facilities which make the car usable for everyday use. The A/C makes sure that the cabin always has the right temperature and the build in navigation makes sure that you always arrive in time. The 7½\" screen makes you able to see DVD and is also connected to a rear view camera to make reversing easy. The audio system also allows you to hear music from either your I-Pod, MP3 player, CDs or Radio. The racing seats are both electrical adjustable and so are the steering wheel. The start up of the Zenvo is easy due to key-less go. Simply just push the \"start engine\" button. When driving the head up display gives you a perfect and safe access to driving information. 2 build in airbags for extra protection and safety. When just cruising simply just use the cruise control. When leaving the car it automatically locks.

Engine & Power
The impressive power is supplied by a 7 liter V8 engine and yes, this is the first ever supercar combining the benefits from both a supercharger and turbo. This combination delivers all the power in one straight line. This makes the car very drivable and has the character of a normal aspirated engine but much more powerful. The engine is a Bio Flex engine. It can run on normal unleaded 98 (RON) or on Bio fuel (E85) or both combined.

Gearbox
The car is standard delivered with a manual 6 speed gearbox which is specially developed to handle the enormous torque and power. We are also offering an option of delivering the car with a paddle shift solution.

An engine's power has very little to do with the number of cylinders it has.

haha nice porsche gauges! pretty impressive numbers but I'm not sure about this turbocharger AND supercharger thing. it might work well with 1,4l but with 7?

Even the Zenvo website doesn't show a picture of the engine -- an engine which incidentally has identical bore and stroke dimensions (104.8mm x 101.6mm) to the GM LS7 V8 and also has the same number of valves (16) as the LS7.

how old is the veyron? yet so many people compare that vehicle to upcoming monsters hahhaha. i can't WAIT for bugatti to be like k... lets go for 300 mph and show em how its done..... 2500hp-3000hp, 8 turbochargers, 24 cylinders, gas runs out it 10 minutes, gets to 300 in 2 minutes, tires explode in 3 minutes.... hahhah oh god. this car does look amazing though

this is probably what the lexus LF-A should have looked like... imposing, different, but most of all beautiful! not that semi-ricer look they have going with the actual car.

on another note, this thing really is freaking stunning! and it has amazing numbers to match!

it's really a nice looking car. Personal opinion : 1.The side looked a bit like BMW's cue 2.The front looked a bit like Audi's cue. But the sharpness of the exterior is no less than a Lamborghini Reventon. It's really a eye catching beast beauty.

sexiest car of the year, hands down in my opinion. And obviously a lot more sexier than the Veyron IMO!

who cares if some parts look like they're taken from other cars. in the end they very nicely managed to make it look sexy, grunty and very muscular! oh any yea better looking than many of the cars out there (veyron, CCX, new/old mclaren etc.. and most porsches :) ) supercharger + turbocharger imho is very clever. i think its the cost and complexity that keeps most companies away from this tech. ow and I cannot wait to see JC testing this and giving us a number on the track. and a mpg test :) I'm almost certain that it'll be more than 12mins lol

I think it looks like something out of Burnout or some other video game.

The Great White Strikes Back! It could easily have been a Hollywood Spielberg movie title, but this is a car. What really makes this car relevant is that Bio Flex engine. Veyron-baiting performance is just a bonus. The Veyron started a World War III, but can it finish it?! Strangest thing is it's from a non-car making nation, best known for its splendid cakes and Hall of Fame goalkeeper, my team's finest goalkeeper to date, Peter Schmeichel. This is even better than the new Savage Rivale Roadyatch GTS! Can't wait to hear its engine roar and see production version! Jezza's test drive on Top Gear's track should be eagerly awaited.

If this thing costs less than a LP670, and can make 60 000km without major mishaps - I think it would be a viable choice for a decent car. How long before its up for orders, and how much will it cost?
