Mercedes Builds 400m Slot Car Track Through E-Class Wagon [Video]
Proof that Germans have too much spare time
What do Germans do when they're bored? They apparently build a 400 meter (1,312 feet) long slot car track through a 2010 Mercedes E-Class Estate.
Initially planned out on a computer, the massive 1275-piece track was built in a single day. Stretching 500 square meters, the track fills the entire 1950 liter (68.9 cubic feet) trunk as well as virtually everything else.
Boasting 1:32 scale DTM-style slot cars, a good "driver" can race around the track in about 4 minutes and 45 seconds.

I thought they built the whole track inside the car... ;/ Anyone could build a track like that, given enough of building pieces and some time...

Sorry, but this is stupid. They've lost a day of their precious work, and I have lost 1.5 minutes of my life (and I won't get it back) watching this nonsense.

definitly nice idea
what the slottrack has to do with e-class wagon? nothing. This is Mercedes' current new car, so what's wrong? I like that advert-theme

Great track! I'd like to try it :D
The idea behind the commercial is to show how much space there is in the E-class estate, all the boxes to build this 400M track comes from the trunk

Mercedes has the WEAKEST marketing department in the automotive world. They have so much to work with: so much history, high quality products, innovation; yet they have never been able to make a decent commercial for god sake. Whoever is in charge of marketing needs to be fired.
