Set to be unveiled in December

Toyota has announced plans to introduce the redesigned 2011 Sienna minivan at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

While details are limited, our spies have previously caught the model undergoing hot weather testing in the American desert. Unfortunately, the styling differences appear so subtle that it's virtually impossible to determine what will differentiate the 2011 model from the 2010 version.

Based on a modified version of Camry platform, the new Sienna is expected to grow a few inches in length for improved passenger room and increased cargo capacity. The Camry underpinnings also mean the minivan will likely be powered by a 3.5-liter V6, with 268 hp and 246 lb-ft of torque, and possibly a hybridized 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 147 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque.

Look for more information to be released when the model is officially unveiled in December.

Toyota Press Release. November 10, 2009: As a company committed to building exceptionally well-made vehicles for our customers, particularly those in the 95 and older age demographic, we have decided once again to raise the bar of customer expectation and offer them a truly revolutionary new product. For 2011 our customers will be able to equip their new Seinna with an optional "rear window hearse simulation package." We at Toyota are very excited to offer a product to our elderly customers that will help them grow accustomed to riding in a hearse. We belief that the new 2011 Sienna will help ease their transition into the afterlife so that when the Grim Reaper inevitably arrives on their doorstep he will be greeted with open arms and maybe even some fresh baked cookies. Thank you for choosing Toyota. Carlos Ghosn Toyota CEO

Whats so good about toyota? I dont think theres really a person in the world thats like: "OMGZ PWNz0Rz t3H N3wZ SI3nna IS COMING OUT OMGZ SO SEXY& 1337!!!" Name something besides the old (i mean old 70s 80s) corolla like the AE86, and such. The MR2 is just a poor mans Porsche if i could remember, or like a Japanese smart roadster...

The 2011 Sienna will likely be offered first with essentially the current Camry V-6 drivetrain: the 2GR-FE rated at 268 bhp with a six-speed automatic. It will likely be followed in 2012 model year by a model that uses the Toyota Camry Hybrid drivetrain.

The fact that the innacurate portrayal and absurd ads with Howie Long exemplify GM in a nutshell. Its incapacity to deliver and overstate its ability to achieve..such mpg which the best a Chevy Malibu can do is 33 and 34 in hybrid version which the ads don't tell you leading consumers to believe it does better. Toyota and Honda does better cars than the Big3...Ford has improved its position after learning lessons in fit and finish from Mazda! It is not ingrained in the corporate culture starting with management to make a complete quality product, just a quaterly goal to show investors its making good with consumers. In another words its a phase which will quickly pass, soon replaced by complacency and weak product(quality & value). A guy like carbonfibreguy hasn't traveled the world, consumers would trade their vehicles to Toyota or Honda given the oppotunity, overall most of theirt products exceeds or matches the top half of the automotive industry, check EPA and NHTSA for numbers or Consumer Reports.
