Mercedes-Benz has released more eye candy in the form of the upcoming 2010 SLS AMG. Driving footage partly seen previously is joined by a number of new clips including studio beauty shots. Close attention is paid to details like the open gullwing doors, the exterior badges, LED daytime running lights and an engine bay cutaway. The soundtrack blasted by the massive tailpipes is suitably impressive while the interior and a number of its features are tastefully showcased.

The SLS AMG is a modern interpretation of the original 300 SL "Gullwing" produced between 1952 and 1963. It features a 6.3-litre (6208cc) naturally aspirated V8 making 420kW (571hp) and 650Nm of torque sent to the rear wheels by a 7-speed double clutch transmission. It will run from 0 - 100km/h in 3.8 seconds and top off at 315km/h.

Lots of pictures of the car in red and in silver are also available for download through these pages. Most were shot on the beach and around mountain passes close to the ocean where the scenery fits the SLS.

Pure awesome, that 8 cylinder sound awesome on low revs on my sub woofer. Really impressive on Mercedes part, I would love to get the 3d models of any format they have of the SLS AMG.

I love this car. Delicious photography. Though I do believe that Mercedes-Benz is now running the risk of over exposure. The car isn't slated to be available until almost a year from now? I say pull it back in for now and go gaga next year. People(some folks here) were already tired of it before it's unveiling. I'll get it regardless, but folks probably won't be as stunned as they should.

Unless their planning to put it on the market earlier than expected... The videos are not that new.

Overexposure? Not this wolf-snouted beast we're all gawping at. Sales won't be affected a jot; rather it will promote it to the maximum. Standing beside it in the metal will hit all fears of overexposure stone-dead!

This car really grew up on me. The first time I saw it I wasn't really impressed; it's now safe to say that I absolutley love it.

This might be one of those cars to have to see to appreciate. From the pictures, I'm sort of so-so about whether I like it. It doesn't seem to really stack up against the original. It sort of looks like a confused mix of ultra-modern and retro. I don't dislike it, though.

whenever i look at this car, i feel slightly disappointed about what it could have been. i thought that feeling would dissipate and that this thing would grow on me but it hasn't. i'm sure the performance is something to behold, the sound is epic, but my god this design just irritates me. there are so many things on this design that, if slightly altered, would make this car better; the design department just half-assed this all-important halo car.

saw it live in Hockenheim and... nope, still doesn't do it for me. Actually also saw a 'real 300SL', now that is still a head turner more than this will ever be.

Someone has listened to honest criticisms of the SLR and made corrections on this ubercoupe. It is a fitting replacement of the timeless original, the 300SL Gullwing. The front end treatment transmits machismo to the senses, whilst the rear simply oozes sex appeal; great combo! The almost rectangular, fared-in headlights lend the SLS AMG a wild, menacing character. The grille, the extra long bonnet, upward-opening doors and cute derriere, are trademark Gullwing design features. Nice toys indoors too. Silver or platinum are best colours. MB is back with a roar of V8 fury!

Oh! I forgot the typical wing-mounted shark air vents too. Is nice!
