One of the most expensive cars in the world and it's not even a name most people would recognize.

No, it's not a Bugatti or a Rolls-Royce. It's the Tramontana, an open top in-line two seater sports car built by the Tramontana Group in Spain.  However, it's not just an "ordinary" Tramontana out of the dozen units slated to be built. It's a creation of Spanish artist Fernando Leal-Audirac. It is valued at €2 million and is fourth on JamesList of the most expensive cars in the world, tied with a rare McLaren F1.

But what really sets the Tramontana apart are the precious paints used by Leal-Audirac that create an iridescent effect on the surfaces of the car. The colors on it can change, moving from purple to blue, from green to gold. Leal-Audirac's intention was to create a "silk sculpture" and no-doubt the visual effects are the core intention of his creation. Attempting to capture the "dynamics of contemporaneity," as the artist is quoted as saying, according to JamesList.

The Tramontana in R-Edition spec has a carbon fiber body and is fitted with a twin-turbo V12 engine with 760 hp. 0 to 100 km/h is said to be 3.6 seconds.

In what I believe is the place just above where the rear license plate will be mounted, the Spanish artist has proudly signed his name.

Perhaps its just a coincidence that his signature looks remarkably like the English words "fail Loser."

Red-red would be a huge improvement over this muskellunge jerk-bait, leopard frog paint scheme. Poor guy should be waiting tables.
