You're old, your kids have already been to Disneyland, and you need a vacation. Where do you go? Ferrari World Abu Dhabi of course!

The "world's first Ferrari theme park and largest attraction of its kind" has announced plans to open in 2010. Featuring more than 20 attractions, the amusement park is 48 meters high, has 100,000 square meters (1,076,391 sq ft) of enclosed space and features the largest Ferrari logo ever created (65m x 48.5m).

Operated by Farah Leisure Parks Management L.L.C, Ferrari World's main attraction is the world's fastest rollercoaster, which travels at speeds in excess of 200 km/h (124.2 mph). Other rides include the 'G-force experience' (which takes "passengers on an adrenaline-pumping ride up over 62 m, through the roof and back down again"), the 'Flume ride' (which explores "the heart of a Ferrari 599 engine"), and an "aerial voyage over Italy following a Ferrari." If that isn't your kind of thing, Ferrari World also offers a junior racing school with expert drivers. After an action-packed day, visitors can relax at an Italian restaurant or browse one of several souvenir shops.

Located on Yas Island, Ferrari World is only a 10-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport and just 30 minutes from the city of Abu Dhabi.

It looks like something stolen from C&C games, and why a Ferrari theme park it's not built in Ferrari's country? Say Italy.

Mubadala owns it. Mubadala is a sovereign wealth fund arm aimed at investing in long term sustainable assets through aquisitions, joint ventures etc.. This is to bring knowledge and industry to the country to create a sustainable economy in the long run.

They built the park as they have a 5% stake in Ferarri and their sister company Al Dar built the Yas Marina circuit and together they are developing the whole Yas island. Mubadala is also a sponsor of the Ferarri F1 Team

is that made u proud with your statement? u should consider move to abu dhabi since dubai will go bankrupt soon... with people like u, i wish electric cars became mainstream & demand for oil drop to the lowest. amen.

hata 0101 - i think 'worldcarfans' has no place for any hybrid loving tree huggers... or people who prefer a prius to a 599

just remember that the production of the batteries used in an electric car are far more damaging to the environment than a standard oil burner...

to mn07. what do you mean we can't go to it? anyone can go to it, its not like the neighborhood trashcan you used to live in. And to hata1010, how are you on WCF and love priuses. I'm not hating on Priuses, trust me i want the new CRZ baddddd, but would you have one over a 599GTB? I guess not...

oh, don't get me wrong. i love performance cars. i'm driving an Evo X...what i meant was, i wish one day, demand for oil drop to its lowest level due to (let me re-phase my point) "alternate" energy. to be honest with u, i'm pretty sure one day, very soon, alternate energy will replace cruel oil, while vehicle using "alternate" energy also have great performance as same as nowadays. so it can shut those mouth of greedy middle-easter sayin' something like "will go there and you can't. I am an hour away.i live in Dubai"...

Completely agree with everything you said hata0101. When the oil wells go dry one of the first people to notice it are us tuners, but hopefully by then like you said welll have the energy to keep going. But guess who will be the first to feel the oil run dry? OMG coincidentally it will be mn07! What an amazing fact lol.

I don't get why there are many haters in the world towards this region. They are trying to develop, and all people can say it's oil money. I think it is great that such a place is being built to raise people's awareness for this area. All people start developing their country with their sources and experties, and in this region they are making use of their sources. So such hate is not necessary since each country has its own resources to begin with.

People hate because they pay 20 times what you pay for gas, and the area is rich because of oil money

If you've got it, flaunt it. Great aerial view. Ferarri must be chuffed to bits with this architectural homage in Bling! Bling! Land. You haters hate because you don't have money. This is business enterprise on a global scale; job opportunities galore and a symbol of European excellence in the UAE, one of the fastest growing economies on the planet.
