Nothing earth shaking but nice and clean. VW does need to get rid of its incredibly dull family grill treatment. The VW nose may be the most tired styling feature in the automotive world.

lol the tyres look flat. Always happens when designers try to max out the wheels.

Guess they want to build an Accord or a Camry with German engineering and quality since the current model appears to be too high tech or expensive for the Americans. Sheesh

We have got a Passat Variant here in Europe and it's big enough and high quality. The Americans need a cheap, low quality but very very big car. The NMS will be like that.

If it's going to have the crushed roof look, as so many Chryslers do, I'm not interested. That would send me back to Honda.

VW is just looking for feed back on the sketch. Like Imasa said, the final sketch or production model won't come close to looking like this current sketch. My two cents on this sketch, Is I like the overall the design which focus on a blend of aggressive and calmness (clean lines). Though, the front grill and headlights requires refinement to match the lower valance. The designer seems to tray to make a transition of the lines of the front fascia of lower to top grill but, fail to carry the lower more aggressive character through. Yet, I do like the idea of the lower valance grill which appears that L.E.D. running lights will be fitting in the two small partitions. I wish there was a sketch of the rear view! Overall, the ?Pheatonistic? look and larger dimensions over the current Passat will be a more accepted car in the U.S.; VW may have something here. I can't wait for the final product.

Yours is the most sensible and detailed comment yet on this Passatville sketch. Don't forget that's how Hitler sketched out Herbie 53! What's your thoughts on the VW's near 50% slice of Porsche? Who's the winner and loser in your opinion?

Thanks GTurbo. I feel VW is not really going to reign on Porsche or micro-manage them. Porsche will have their sense of freedom like Audi, Bentley and Bugatti. VW knows what they have in their portfolio and there not going to do anything to tarnish Porsche; VW has done well with Audi and others right? To add to, Mr. Ferdinand Piech has his hand in the ?Cookie Jar?. Furthermore, VW will learn from Porsche in the quality and production efficiency that Porsche has been so successful in. All in all, Porsche will do well and continue to progress as one of histories best sport cars, regardless of being under VW's umbrella.

That doesnt mean that passat is dead, it could be still running but in higher class as now. New sedan will be somethig that passat was 15-20 years ago. CMS (Cheap Mid-sized Sedan)
