the roxster?? hahahaha =)))).... oh my god that is rich :)))). the guys at porsche have some really nice jokes. i can already see the commercial: "if you really wanna rock, get the new roxster!!!! it is is smaller, more fuel effiecient and uglier than the cayenne". and what was the other one...panamera coupe or cabrio? hey, doesnt it already exist? a 2 door porsche, with or without a roof; i think it is called THE 911. in my opinion, porsche needs a new carrera gt or a replacement. the 911, new or old, will and should look the same. it's porsches "trademark"...legacy. preiod.

Sence VW is going to take over Porsche, I just hope that VW does not turn Porsche into a mass manufacturer. But I look at other brands in the VW group, and they are not mass manufacturers.

I agree with Christopher but we might as well get used to it now that Porsche lost the takeover fight with VW. VW gave the Gallardo platform to Audi so expect to see Porsche lose it's iconic status and share platforms/engines and god knows what else with the VW group. The Panamera platform is already rumoured to be shared with Lambo (Estoque), Bentley and Bugatti. How long will it take before the share the 911 platform ...?

If the next 911 adopts Panamera headlights, I will be very disappointed.

@joshg 5. A longer, wider 911= NO NO NO!! I agree with you there. But look on the bright side, at least the people at porsche may consider turning the 911 into a mid-engine platform if they were to increase the size of the car. Although a bigger/bulkier 911 dose seem a bit distasefull.

A Panamera GT coupe would be fantastic and it would look so much better as a coupe and maybe the cabrio version could have a retractible hardtop. I'll ignore the Roxster but the 911 I'd simply have to say why mess with success.

I don't know how much of this I believe. I thought the Roxster was axed a long time ago and also that VW are not keen on having Porsche-branded SUVs. I think this report is bogus/old speculation. This article is also written from the point of view that Porsche management is calling the shots.

I love the overall shape of the upcomming 911. The whole stance looks much better befitting a supercar look. With the competition heating up and the current 911 looking almost sedan like bland in comparison, the new one had to look more exotic I think.

I dont like to be a limited conservative automotive enthusiast yelling "BLASPHEMY!" to every alternative, but... Has anyone noticed Porsche lineup will be slightly too big in 2013? It was big enough before Panamera, 3 models plus a Porsche-branded competetive good SUV. Now 5 models. I do hope a Roxster will never see daylight, pulling the brand downmarket and away from the sports car focus. I don't mind diesels on Cayenne, but come on, Panamera? Put in a 3.0 V6 FSI petrol from Audi if you wanna go downmarket so bad. Why not? If they should make 928 on Panamera, good, but don't make it another model. 5 Models: Boxster (and S), Cayman (and S), 911 (loads of versions as usual), Cayenne (and S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S) and Panamera (and S, 4S, Turbo, Cabriolet, Coupe both of which could be sold in all versions). NOT Boxster, Cayman, 911, Panamera, Pan928thingy, Roxster, Cayenne, some Scirocco-based compact...... I know Porsche tries to compete with Jaguar these days but they are becoming more and more of just another premium brand... and that's bad cos VW already have Audi and Bentley.

Hmm the 2+2 convertible 2door panamera GT sounds sick, i mean i cannot think of anything in that category other than the Continental GT and even that is a few $ more. Porsche would own a market, the only competitor in the price range i can think of is maybe the E63 convertible. the S5 convertible is not really as much of a premium convertible gt.

Even though most (from what ive heard) of their sales are from the US, why do they have to concentrate there? Do i need to say about one of the causes for porsches' carrera gt went down?

Wouldn't you go where the grass is greener? Frank Sinatra said ''If i can make it there, I can make it anywhere.'' The American market made the unsightly Cayenne possible; instant global sales hit! That's why Porsche have been going against their own sports car brand values in the interest of remaining in the black. Lightness is now a dirty word for Porsche and, incidentally, Ferrari. Thoughts on the California anyone?
