Great news! That would be good both for Mercedes-Benz and Formula 1.

how short sighted. amazing accomplishment by brawn to win the championships in their maiden year, but mclaren are a proven winner with pedigree. i guess there's a lot of politics going on behind the scenes.

Not exactly. Ross Brawn has won the drivers and constructors championship many times as a technical director and has proved himself time and again to be one of the true standouts of the modern Formula 1 era. Besides, McLaren and Mercedes will have a tough time working together if neither of them want to work together.

Mercedes and Mclaren have for a long time now been in not so good relations, specialy after the spy issue with ferrari, which Mercedes had nothing to due with but was involved anyways, just like it happened with Renault now

there most be something goin on behind the scenes for merc to be so eager to get away from mclaren. i wonder what sort of bearing this could have on buttons contract negotiations, as merc would certainly be able to afford his wage demands. i wonder if mclaren may start building there own engines??? be funny if mclaren were beating merc on and off the track....

Expect McLaren to announce that they have purchased BMW's engine building division in the coming months.
