German tuner adds 45 hp to the RS's already formidable 300 hp going through the front axle

One could argue that the Ford Focus RS already has too much horsepower going through the front axle but Loder1899 thinks it may need a little more.

The Ford Focus RS is already the most powerful hot-hatch in its class, with its 2.5 liter, turbocharged 5-cylinder engine doling out a remarkable 300 bhp. But now German tuner Loder1899 has added an extra 45 horses for the front wheels to grind away with.

The specialized Ford tuner also provides a new stainless-steel exhaust system, in a Y-pipe form and fitted with a silencer, that deepen the sound of the already rumbling production RS. According to Loder1899, the new exhaust system alone adds 20 horses to the RS's performance. A new air filter and other fidgeting account for the rest.

A suspension-lowering of 35 mm is also part of the tuning package. Loder1899's own 20-inch "Vertigo Viginti" wheels are included too.

i can't believe american car companies are so stupid that they don't sell their best cars in their own market... ford needs to bring this car to the US now!!, no one cares if it does 5 miles/gl less. I'll take this over an evo, sti, civic type r, etc

Painting a car green does NOT make it cool.

Good luck going round corners with that amount of power. Now it is like an American muscle car. Built for straight lines, not for corners.

Ever heard of RevoKnuckle? :)

Evo tested the RS against a Ford GT on mountain roads in France and except for the long straights, the RS was always on the tail of the mighty GT.

If this doesn't lend any credibility to the engineering behind this gem, then what will? ;)

That car won't have any problems going around corners. Fifth gear did a review of the Focus RS and the GTR through the twisty roads of England and if handled beautifully.

Huge fan of the RS and would love to drive one. This - for a FWD - does seem overkill and those wheels really don't do it for me. But heck, what do I know till I've driven this animal: that modified exhaust note must be HUGE.

Somehow I imagine this is what the next gen of the escort cosworth would look like had the focus not existed. It should literally have awd, what was ford thinking? Also not sold in north america, again what are they thinking?
