What, all that for only double the price!? Sign me up for this scam, sounds really interesting!

obviously the only things u've paid attention to are the power and torque numbers. Think about what they have done to the handling aspect and you will be saying "sign me up for one".

Ummm, no I won't... there are many many cars I'd take over this. No brainer: 135i, Evo X, STI, (personally) an RS... 40k is LUDICROUS. Checked the date and no, it's not April 1st.

"The Evo X FQ-330 SST is priced at ?35,999"
Which one would you choose? A FWD hatchback or ?3,000 cheaper AWD saloon with 90hp more. I'd go with Evo without thinking twice...

With that money, you're better off with a Nissan 370Z & such. Or wait for the Toyobaru.

Kepe
Yeah but putt that EVO on the stage against this civic and you finialy see where those 39k punds come in.
Stage driving IS expencive and considering how much many people spend on their cars(Hondas) and dont even get a penny back, this is a pretty good deal. This car will probably have a colectors value in 20-30 years while a suped-up car and a EVO probably wont.
Only thing that i would like to increase is the power and, though i would like to decrease the shopping-cart-handle (wing) =)
October 24, 2009 10:35 am
I may disagree. Driving a FWD is totally different experience from a AWD. No matter how much power you put on a FWD it won't match the excitment and control of a AWD. Its overpriced for a FWD hatchback.

Hatchbacks never become serious collectors cars but they're not different enough from their humdrum bretheren. To see this as an investment would show the same dillusion as affected Clio Williams buyers 15 years ago, who never saw their cars appreciate beyond purchase price.
October 25, 2009 5:19 pm
Who wants a Civic sitting around for 30 years until it's worth something?
October 27, 2009 5:35 pm
I was going to say that wing is laughable... but I'm going to prefer to say that it's tragic.
Just how many spikey-haired twats are there kicking around the UK with ?40K in their jeans anyways?
October 24, 2009 11:22 am
I used to like this car, but with that price, that just sucks. You can get a Stock Civic Type R for 18k less, or a Subaru Impreza for 10k less or the Evo as stated above. This car is just pointless.

now this is the civic they should have brought to the states and Canada, Aleast this one better looking
October 24, 2009 4:14 pm
A group N Civic From Jas Motorsport with Mugen ECU would be more worthy of that much money http://www.jasmotorsport.com/Pdf/251.pdf

This is a mockery of car prices. there are endless cars that will be a MUCH greater buy. i would never and will never buy a FWD car to even use or think about having it as a SPORTS car. it just cant happen!!!!!!!!! only a rwd and awd offer exceptional drivin excitement and i see this as a scam for 'setting up' a dumb civic. many ppl have put the k20's in almost every other honda imaginable so this is not special to me and as i said, there can never be a FWD sports car. .................MUGEN please look at a dictionary and look up the word sports car and see what it says please because i find this to be complete BS
October 24, 2009 6:02 pm
worst of all i am sure if u wanted extra power u wud have to spend a mint of money because of the high compression ratio and other crap associated with this engine and i believe with the ecu mapping its probably nearly maxed out for a NA car. y in the wold wud i go with this over a sexy 370z, evo or wrx sti that can be easily modified for a few $$$$ to get at least 50-100 more hp. damn it for that price i wud just buy a entry level luxary car like a benz c-class or bmw 3 series so i could sleep good at nights
October 24, 2009 6:09 pm
Its a great car but like others, it is a bit costly compared to other cars like the Evo. Im sure its fairly competitive for a FWD car that will outpace some non FWD cars but Honda shoulod be trying to under cut its rivals here.
October 24, 2009 6:34 pm
Yeah, I don't need to repeat everything that has been said here about the price. Its way to blown out of the proportion and is only targeted at those hardcore civic fans lol. Almost any car at that money is a better buy.
October 24, 2009 9:24 pm
Despite what you think, Mugen is going to sell every last one of these cars because the ppl who want it will not let cost stand in their way. 40K is still an attainable price for a car. I wouldn't buy it, but I'm not the target audience...
October 24, 2009 10:34 pm
agreed!!! They will sell every last unit, because the people buy these cars are true mugen enthusiasts. They really don't care that they can get a faster more powerful EVO or even a regular ctr and upgrade.
October 26, 2009 2:33 pm
That's around US$63K!!! More than enough at where I live for a quite of a few cars I have been researching on recently. Gosh that is lots of deniros/hp or torque. I feel sorry for those who live at a place where it takes an arm and a leg to even be able to drive anything descent. I have just spent quite some time comparing and going over is-f, M3, M5, C63, E63, and finally made a decision and announced to wifey today that our next car will be a CTS-V. I can easily get a new CTS-V with that price, or a used one in a couple of years with half of that cash.
October 25, 2009 1:32 am
i would never buy anything other than an NSX for over $60k USD with a honda badge on it. NEVER!!!!!!!!!! no civic is worth that amount regarless of how 'special' it is, its still a cheap first job car to pick up groceries.
October 25, 2009 5:01 pm
Hell you can get an FQ 330 and own that thing from the drag strip to the track. Waste of money but it gives the "Honda Heads" something to scream over.
October 26, 2009 1:19 am
crap price. Just like what everyoen else said on here; get an EVO X. Or you could settle for the base civic and mod it out...
