Because i don't need a Lambo badge or Ferrari badge to make me feel better about my life. Bear in mind, the Countach and Diablo 6.0VT are some of my favorite cars of all time. The real point is that some buyers buy Ferraris or Lambos' cars just because of their notoriety and not because of what amazing performance they' re capable of. Thats a pathetic excuse to buy any car, regardless how good it is. Also I love how you call it a Supra replacement. WRONG! It was never called a Supra, Toyota never intended it to be a Supra and it shares nothing in common with a Supra save for its drivetrain. Its a hell of alot more car than the Supra is, and while the price tag is pretty high, could be cheaper, its much higher quality than the Supra.

Not really, im just replying with my opinion, of which none of those replies were in any way shape or form disrespectful. After checking out the pricing on Lexus site, that seems to be the final price. A bit high even i admit. Im calm...and im not your bro. Secondly you can check all the articles on WCF, i only reply to those whose subject matter i care about. If me only caring much about the LF-A, as i like it ALOT, is wrong then too bad. You do realise im capable of reading very quickly and consequentially posting.The Canadian education system will ensure you reading prowess very early in life. The process only really took maybe 30-40 minutes total(popping on, reading/replying).

For comparison sake: Lexus LFA - V-10 : 4805 cc : 560Hp 354 torque : weight 1480Kg price- 370k Ferrari 458- V-8 : 4499 cc : 570Hp 378 torque : weight 1480 kg(not sure if its dry or wet) price- ~175k I think the stats speak for themselves.

The Ferrari is cheaper partly because the materials, engineering and general quality used are common place for at least a decade in Ferrari, making the building of new super cars cheaper due to everything being in place. In comparison, Toyota/Lexus didn't just have to think outside their box, they had to design, fabricate and consequentially produce "outside the box". Toyota given their product line and the products theyve made until now had no real choice but to make the car this expensive. They could have did a similar price to the 959 where Porsche charged a third(MSRP) for the car in comparison to how much it cost them to make that great beast. Porsche sold the 959 for a 3rd of its value. This car alone almost bankrupted porsche given other things that were going on in the economy at that time. The same applies to Lexus, if they charged a value price, they would have lost alot of money in everything that went into R&D, engineering and building of such a higher quality super car(compared to their own line-up i mean), and this would also weaken their brand overall, as even Toyota took a hit when the current economy took a hit. Sorry to droll on, but im just replying as to why Toyota chose this route with pricing. I admit its quite high, but i would still pay this price, and Toyota didn't have much choice when you think about it in terms of financial sense.

I understand where your coming from - but as a business enterprise dont they have to be financially responsible?? I mean im sure people will buy it and HKS will come out with a turbo for it - and people will drop 15-30k for tuner upgrades and easily push it to 750+HP. But my point is at that price you gotta give more. It maybe Toyota's first time - but they have the resources and engineering to pull it off. Then again if the car looked beautiful it would be justifiable, but you cannot describe the car as beautiful. And the 458 is just drop dead gorgeous. I dont think ive every dreamt of the day i would say this - but the Ferrari is the more responsible and smarter choice of the Lexu 0.0!

I can't really disagree too much with your opinion. If i had the money i would pay this much but rest assured, i'ld like to pay less. Toyota could have taken a bigger hit on this car im positive, so a lower price would have been a bit smarter. I think Toyota could give it more 0omph(dont mean just speed) and they just might but that would probably be a higher model...with a slightly higher price tag. Think something along the lines of LF-A-R. It would be wise to offer buyers of these cars performance mods/bolt ons(even less restrictive exhaust etc) for essentially a free price given how steep the cars price is. I definitely think Toyota should have taken a bigger loss on the MSRP, lower price, because as much i love Toyota, they don't have the image of rivals in this Niche segment which won't help. Im sure all 500 will be sold but still...its tough goings, specifically outside of Japan.
