Toyota has officially unveiled the sexy FT-86 Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Designed to preview the jointly developed Toyota/Subaru sports car, the FT-86 features sleek styling and a compact design. According to Toyota, the concept "embodies speed and the excitement of driving that give cars their appeal as well as environmental performance."

Overall, the coupe measures 4,160mm long, 1,760mm wide and 1,260mm high. With a wheelbase of 2,570mm, Toyota says FT-86 can comfortably accommodate four occupants.

While the company declined to release additional information, the concept is powered by Subaru's 2.0-liter naturally aspirated Boxer petrol engine. It is expected to produce between 160 and 200 hp. Other performance goodies include a six-speed manual transmission, ADVICS brakes, and rear-wheel drive.

Our apologies for the lack of sound in the video above.

What's the design/economic/artistic point of cars with A-pillar or C pillar having black color or different color from the rest of the car body? I hate it (Corvette, Z4, Jag XJ, this one here)

We will get this as a lexus with different engine options most likely here in North America. This car looks too agressive for 160-200hp, this should have the jdm STI 2L not some lawn tractor version of it. 303hp rwd and turbo :). I bet that will be the most popular mod on this car, engine swap + bigger turbo kit for 550hp = crazy fun toyota(lexus)

NA is just stupid in this day and age when the addition of a turbo would made this car obviously more attractive to purchase (surely?) along with greater efficiency: lower consumption / emissions and greater low-down power. Interior colour (white?) horrid. Front and rear (square-on) it's lacking a little something but other angles looks great. Without a turbo (or TWIN turbo) and already owning a 2 litre turbo, I'd not consider this as a purchase down the line in current specs.
