Tax issue solved, Canada GP announcement due
With the last obstacle reportedly now overcome, an announcement to confirm Canada's return to the F1 calendar next year is imminent.
We reported recently that Bernie Ecclestone wants to receive race fee payments from Montreal authorities along with a written guarantee from the Canada Revenue Agency that he will not pay federal tax.
The La Presse newspaper said in its Wednesday edition that the tax guarantee has finally been forthcoming.
Montreal mayor Gerald Tremblay is now expected to announce within days that the popular Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will host formula one in mid June 2010.
