zero emotion, nothing special....

'zero emotion': lol, cheap meaningless remark that can only be made by someone who doesn't have any 'real' argument. Stick to saying it is ugly like the other blind Japanese car haters.

zero emotion, because you've driven it? you've seen it in life? because you know what it's like to own one? such stupididty.

I would have R8 V10 over this car any day. Good performance, much better styling both exterior and interior and less money.

not everyone who dislikes this car is a japanese car hater. i think this thing is butt ugly (too many holes, slits, and jagged lines; this thing is horridly incoherent), overpriced, and really nothing special considering how incredibly long it took them to develop it. there is no breakthrough tech here, maybe when M-B releases the electric drive SLS, Lexus will rush one into production and throw it into their television advertisements like they do with all their other so-called pioneering innovations. a nissan gtr is a far superior car numbers wise--price and performance--than this lexus. that's the japanese car i would kill to own. sorry.

You say its not good enough because of how long it took them McNamara? It took them so long because everything was done from scratch. For one it uses a V10 which takes a hell of a lot more engineering from the ground up rather than grabbing an existing V6 and just re-engineering it like the GT-R, as Nissan did. Secondly, the GT-R engine is derived from their Super GT race engines so while they still had to re-engineer it to a degree, it wasn't as time consuming or nerve racking as macking your own V10 when you've NEVER made one before as Toyota did. This whole car is from scratch. The Nissan is far more derivative of technology and engineering they had in place. Thats why the Lexus is more expensive, you pay for what you get, a rare and exclusive car.

Look guys, don't get me wrong. I can perfectly understand the argument it is (too) expensive. I think probably the price can be technically explained based on what it cost to develop it adding some profit, just like you would do with any run-of-the-mill car. But this seems more something as an image builder. In such case making a profit is maybe not so important. Remember the 959. Porsche lost money on every one they made... That's why I would have expected a lower price. Not sure if it's clear what I want to say. As an image builder, I think this car is a very good effort. If you ignore the price (not that difficult because even at half the price it is out of reach for most of the people on this site), you can simply not say this car has no emotion, no appeal, ... I'm pretty sure this car will drive like hell, the engine is awesome (even in company of whatever other OEM) and it looks special so if you get your head out of your ass, you have to admit it is at least an impressive car. You don't have to like the style, no argument there (I do by the way, it looks better than a 458 in my eyes).

it looks like that this will be the new Nurburgring record holder and GT-R beater!

I don?t think so. Rear-wheel drive with front engine, low torque (480nm), moderate acceleration (3.7 vs. 3.4 for the much cheaper 911 turbo)...Another comment: the GT-R was never and is not the record holder at the Nordschleife!

only japanese can build such ugly cars. who will pay 375k?s for looking like a nerd? no thank you. i will take a panamera AND a turbo instead.

A huge +1. Anyone who pays $375,000 for a lexus supercar that has virtually nothing unique about it is outside their mind!

yea...the panamera is uniquely ugly

then take a A8, 750il or S550 instead... or a SLS, a R8 Spider, even 12 Jetta are better value for money

Stunning! 250k? for such ugliness... What on earth could justify this except the dedicated engine (and CFRP making it still 100kg heavier than an aluminum F458)

Not much to look at, but THAT ENGINE! And the exclusivity. In the same way that the NSX made people wonder why they'd but a Ferrari 348, so this may get a few potential 599 buyers sweaty.

In my opinion, this looks better than the 458 Italia, price should be between $200k-$230k not $375k!

Styling aside (I like the Ferrari better), the stats on the Ferrari 458 Italia look better; 3.4 seconds to 100km/h, 570hp from 4.5 liters NA, 1380kg, dual clutch transmission, trick differential, active aerodynamics. I have no doubts that Lexus has built a great performing car, but I can't help but think that it has missed a few steps. I was expecting something a little different considering all of the hype and the decade-long gestation period.

Forgot to mention, that the Ferrari is probably going to be cheaper than this by a fair margin.

Not when you factor in dealer mark-ups edison.(for the Ferrari).

you order a Ferrari from Maranello , you don't need a dealer. and even with all mark-ups , the F458 is still cheaper, better looking, more luxurious and faster than this ugly Toyota.

I will concede that, dealership bull**** isn't worth the extra coin.

sounds fantastic and looks good in a high-tech kind of way- exactly as a high-tech japanese car should look- i'm glad the japanese are carving their own path in the supercar market and not trying to imitate european supercars.

For starter, I don't think the new Mclaren is particularly attractive, so is the new 458. But at least they look their price. I got to admit the soundtrack of this car is top notch, but the looks more like a 30k car than 300k. All the vents & styling looks so boy racer. I thought the concept looks quite nice (minus the headlights).

I want to like this car, I?ve tried to pretend that I like this car ... but I couldn?t. And why is that? First, I think for that carries that price tag, it doesn't give me the dramatic feel of the Ferrari 599 or the presence of SL65 Black or the charisma of the DBS (I compare these cars with the LFA because they all have Front engine and RWD setup). Although I love its high rev V10 engine and the noise, which reminds me with the Carrera GT, I think it looks well ?kind of ugly?. I even think the Audi R8 looks more expensive than the LFA and for that alone I am disappointed with this car. I still hope it does well in the market, although I doubt that will be the case.
