better but not enough- it needs a radical make-over to compete with the market leaders.

Oh my Lord, what have they done... The Auris is a second rate effort in the European market and now they've added ugliness to total lack of inspiration. Compare this to the Focus and it's frankly laughable.

From inside it looks quite decent, but the blandness outside, oh dear... somehow reminds Nissan Micra, but without any characteristics.
And what's with the Hyundai-look-a-like badge?

Lol, they've made it even uglier than before, which was quite hard to acomplish. I prefered even the prev gen corolla.

It's simply the JDM-Logo
The Auris dosn't look bad. Most guys called that ugly, shows no relations to that statement. Maybe it's a bit boring insteed of dynamic Audi A3 or sportive Alfa 147... but not simply ugly.
I think Toyota change things better like the taillights or the bonnet. But I think, the rearfenders look to wide for the car, that gives it confusing proportions.

actually, toyota sells its models in japan under several different 'divisions', all being toyota, despite having different badges, products and retailers. weird, isn't it?

Looks a little... pointier. It is better than the old one, but I still prefer the Impreza and Civic.

that is a car for people who don't care about cars. just like new age is music for people who don't like music. yeah, toyota is the enya of the auto world.

Hey, don't mock Enya! Enya is making something that is actually beautiful. :)

Japanese car makers are about the only ones why still make 1.6 or 1.8 engines without turbos. That's a good thing. I rather have a 3.0 v6 with 180 hp than a 1.4 with 180 hp

I am really puzzled?!
How does a company as wealthy as Toyota produce a car that looks like this and cars that look like the FT-86???
Wasn?t this designed in France???
Ah, some ex-French Resistance at work to destroy the enemy?
