The new face of Volkswagen already seen in the Golf, the Polo and some commercial vehicles will soon find its way onto the Tiguan. Pictures of the facelift compact SUV have surfaced as it made its way around the Nurburgring and elsewhere. It seems no other panels have been affected by the surgeon's touch.
About four years ago the trend began going against massive SUVs towards smaller, luxurious urban off-roaders. So Volkswagen had to enter the segment as an antidote to the large Touareg. The Tiguan had made its public debut at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show and immediately drew controversy thanks to its name and exterior looks.
However as time went by the public grew used to both and some buyers began to appreciate some its features such as the self-parking system, rear view camera, panoramic sunroof, 4Motion AWD and interior utility talents.
Some engines in the range currently include a 110kW (150hp) 1.4 TSI, a 125kW (170hp) TSI and a 125kW (170hp) common rail TDI. Transmission options are a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic.
Expect to see the facelift Tiguan at an international motor show within the next few months.
