Two Lexus LF-A Prototypes Sound Off at Nurburgring Gas Station [Video]

Here they are, two Lexus LF-A examples (or whatever its final name will be), clear as day and on video. True the clip is only 25 seconds long but it gives a great indication of the car in a real-life situation. The cars had just finished refueling and were headed back to the Nürburgring.

Great things are expected of Lexus' first ever supercar, not least of all handling prowess. While many manufacturers put cars on the ‘Ring that only belong in a circus ring, the LF-A really needs to be much more if it is to successfully take on established players like the Nissan GT-R. The rumoured V10 with a speculated 405kW (550hp) can be heard twice pulling away from the filling station. Even the shooter can't help but exclaim at the glorious sounds the black and white pair make during their quick getaway.

Lexus has confirmed a two-seater supercar for premier at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show but fell short of naming it as the LF-A. Realistically speaking what else could it be?

I agree. What is it with Lexus and Toyota nowa' days. There cars looks so frumpy. It's like they are nice and new but, over done in some areas and under done in others.

Sounds like a race-stripped Ferrari, I like that. But it is a shame that many manufacturers are reducing the cylinder heads and displacement on their engines or put turbos, superchargers or even KERS on it. Not so sure how it will perform next to the similarly priced SLS AMG or 599 GTB.

That is the second best sounding Japanese engine. Nothing beats Honda's high revving V-TEC. :P

I must say I ahve never been a huge fan of Japanese styling and it still rings true with this one. Although this car does have some potential in my eyes. I do think it has to many scoops and openings on it but overall I like the design. And the sound is absolutely stunning, it reminds me of being in the garage area with the last V10 F1 cars. That just sounds stellar. I will give it the benefit of doubt for sure just because we need more cars sounding like that on the road. I just hope the drivers of these cars will give everyone around the pleasure of its whale.

I think that the new car Lexus will show in the 2009 Tokyo Show will be the brand new redesigned 2011 Lexus SC. But the LF-A really sounds and looks good in white!

The only thing on the car that doesnt look good is the scoop that swoops into the window in the back
