Student Design: TVR Artemis Concept Envisages Possible Revival of British Marque
TVR Artemis concept car

A graduate design student has created a TVR Concept car called the Artemis for his graduation project. Apparently he was inspired by the history of the marque as well as its design DNA. One of the main aspects that lured him was the rather feminine structure that TVR tends to take in contrast to the macho route other sports car makers run along.

The concept's lines are smooth, curvy and elegant, especially in areas like the typical TVR slit at the door which now continues gracefully in the A-pillar. A similar 3D styling approach is found on the front and rear as well.

Bringing TVR to the same level as competitors are features like LED lights and hydrogen fuel cells for power. The interior controls are hidden in openings on the dashboard which keeps things simple yet sophisticated.

Hopefully designs such as these will inspire some investors to help revive the wavering British brand back to health, again.

The sketches look ok, but the CGI is very poor. As for the car itself, really looks like a TVR alright, which isn't really a good thing.

This looks like so many things already out there. A little porshe with a little Nissan Z, with a dash of Audi TT. We can never make fun of Hyundai again, at least they make thier design theft acutally look good.

I could imagine this as a TVR, although it needs more confidence. The styling cues are there but it lacks the agression of later TVRs.

This was an project idea prone to fail. Trying to make an attractive, soul stirring new design that evokes a dated design that was neither is a recipe for disaster. It does look cheap and plasticy, much like the cars that caused TVR to go down. It even makes the same styling statement as the TVR's of not so long ago, "Now that we've peeled the molds off, what do we do to it to make it look like a real car".

Good work, but I rather like the sketch than its CGI and the dashboard looks cool, but its quite awkward in real use.
