Nelson Piquet has emerged as a candidate for a 2010 race seat with the new Spanish F1 team Campos, according to the Marca sports newspaper.

With news that the Brazilian driver has lined up a forthcoming NASCAR truck test, 23-year-old Piquet was quoted in the media as insisting that his focus remains on resurrecting his tattered F1 career.

"I want to clear up this business rapidly so it doesn't stay with me for the rest of my life," he said in an interview with Brazil's Globo TV.

Marca reports that Piquet's route back into F1 could be with the aid of his famous and wealthy father, who could become an investor of Adrian Campos' new entry that is set to debut next March.

Asked about his next step in the wake of the crash-gate scandal, Piquet Jr answered: "I need a decent team, a decent engineer. A team that believes in me.

"I don't know which one it will be but I do know I will go back to racing," said Piquet.

No one should hire Piquet. Sure, he blew the whistle, but he still CRASHED THE CAR deliberately. He didn't even prove himself as a driver in the first place.

The little sack of crap should never be allowed to race in F1 again. Anytime you have a race driver who has to crash his car in order to save his seat, something is definitely wrong. You can hardly blame Flavio & Pat Symonds for asking him to crash (if it was indeed their idea), since Piquet managed to stuff his Renault 17 times in only 2 years of racing in Formula One... it's what he does best.

This is ruining his father reputation, he wasn't exactly a great driver. If you were maybe of hamilton , vettel, alonso type skill then maybe so. No one well ever trust this man again, he has no moral fibre.

Piquet is simply an embarrassment to F1. What a whiny little b****.
